Default HIGHLANDER Steelbook [Germany] - Pre-Order is Up

Let's hope it actually happens this time...and the price (under 20 Euros after VAT is removed) isn't bad either.

If it's region free and the director's cut, I'm in.

According to Amazon it's a Kinowelt release which means it's probably region B locked. Couldn't find it in Cinefacts.de or from Kinowelt's own site yet, but Amazon's been the first to list some of their releases in the past too.

This will probably me more correctly a Studio Canal release with Kinowelt just acting as the distributor.

I am getting this one for sure, I wonder what will they use for the cover?

I am Connor MacLeod of the Clan MacLeod. I was born in 1518 in the village of Glenfinnan on the shores of Loch Shiel. And I am immortal.

Then that's a pass for me.

Thanks for the info.

I think the European Cut was the Director's cut and the American version was the edited release, getting a extend cut/European cut years later.

I could be wrong but I believe that was the history of the film. Keep in mind it has been years since i first read about Highlander and the various editions.

Yeah, according to imdb.com, the runtime is 116 minutes, with the USA getting a 110 min theatrical version. The German Steelbook listing says 339 Minuten, which is obviously a misprint, or includes all the extra features. The UK Steelbook listing says 117 minutes.

The German Steelbook was released on June 17, and good news for those concerned about Region coding - a UK member on TheBombShelter (Yahoo Group) received his copy already, and posts "I purchased the German Studio Canal blu-ray steelbook as I couldn't wait. I can confirm it's both region A & B".

Hopefully the UK release on July 6 will be the same, they're both from Studio Canal German/UK studios. Shipping costs excluded, the UK version is about $1 less at current exchange rates.

Yes, a big change for me as well - a few months ago I only had a Region A BD player and a TV that could only take 1080i, 60 Hz. These days I'm region free, 50Hz/60Hz free, and in 1080p/24 bliss.

I read from your signature that you just bought Max Manus.

Many thanks, sorry for this.
