In the end I could have saved a couple of bucks, but it was just easier getting it on blu-ray here in Canada.
Gotcha. I saw you ordered them so I assumed you were in America (didn't even look at your location). I nabbed both WN1 and 2 for $5 last week from Amazon so its why I questioned you

Skull,

That sounds...wrong. Are you sure its a Blu-ray and not a DVD (put in there by accident)? No Blu-ray is 480p and only a few have been 1080i.

I got 15 Minutes a while back and I'm out-putting via 1080i and that's what it rang up as on my LG BH200. Looked pretty good too and there was great detail a lot of times. Not the greatest transfer of all time, but it was still pretty good.

If I could have gotten them for $5 (which is a major sweet deal) I would've done it that way for sure.
Just curious though, was there any audio syncing problems on the White Noise 2 HD DVD?

I watched WN2 on HD DVD a year ago and didn't notice any issues that I recall.

I checked all my other Alliance discs - every other one registered 1080p. I'm using a PS3 hooked up through a Denon receiver with conversion turned off. I'm relatively sure that this is an authoring error, but thought you all should be aware of it.
Scott, are you using the Component video outputs from your PS3, or HDMI? It's possible that Alliance accidentally flagged the Image Constraint Token, which would limit the video to 480p over Component.

Hey guys. I am using an HDMI output from my PS3 with output set at 1080p/24. I'm relatively sure it's a blu and not a DVD because I'm getting HD audio. Maybe it's my settings, but the fact that all my other Alliance titles play fine is confounding. I'll mess around a little and let ya'll know what happens.

Default 15 Minutes Resoultion update

Ok - I figured it out. I went into my PS3 display settings and realized the only things checked were 1080p and 480p (1080i and 720p were unchecked). I went ahead and checked the 1080i and 720p and my display registered a 1080i output. This is my first experience with a 1080i encoded disc, so obviously the PS3 will send out the lower resolution (480p) when 1080i is not checked. Needless to say the picture was better, but still a pretty weak entry into the Blu-ray pantheon.

Whenever I ordered merchandise through Amazon America, it usually took approximately 3 days to get to me. One time though it took over a week for a package to get to me. My guess is that it's probably just a little bit slow getting to ya.
OR...maybe customs intercepted too perhaps? This could be an answer, but I'd say it's just slow getting to you.

Guess we know now that the back of the box was NOT mislabled and it is indeed a 1080i transfer.
Just got finished watching 15 Minutes again right now, and I can positively say that it's not a weak release.

The Canadian Alliance release is exactly the same as the US Magnolia Pictures release with 5.1 DTS-HD sound and English (SDH) Subtitles.
