Why? It will be close enough to the actual AR (1.85:1) and the DVD didn't have a ton of features. BD25 is likely with a DTS MA track. Not bad, IMO.

Josh, I don't think anyone answered you, so...

Your best bet is to visit Best Buy, Futureshop, HMV (usually in malls), and of course Walmart. Amazon.ca usually has better pricing, but in your case this doesn't really apply unless you can get them mailed somewhere in Toronto before you go.

And grab a bag of Ketchup Chips, Dill Pickle Chips and some Maple Syrup. Pretty much the 3 reasons why Canada still exists

Not a fan of ketchup or dill chips, and we can get maple syrup from Vermont. We're going to Canada for the poutine.

I had to Google that. That looks delicious.

And Canada has free healthcare, so you won't need to shell out any dough when your heart gives out due to the massive amount of fat/cholesterol.

I had to Google poutine as well - mmmm, gravy over french fried potatoes, with fresh cheese curd. Sounds like good advice ^^^^^^.

Bonus!

My knowledge of Canadian cuisine is limited to two things: Poutine and Donair meat. We went to Nova Scotia a few years ago, and one of the lunch places advertised Donair sandwiches. Having never heard of it, we asked what was in the Donair sandwich. The teen behind the counter answered, "Donair meat, duh." I guess we got exactly the answer we deserved.

One of my Canadian friends informs me that he's pretty sure that Donair meat is made of "some combination of pigeon and hobo, but we don't ask questions."

It's best not to think about what you're eating, be it smoked meat or Donair meat. Just grab a proper beer and enjoy.

guys... try Fries, cheese (real diced cheddar), sour cream, bacon bits and chives.... Besides poutine, that is the next best thing... sometimes i wonder why i don't weigh 400 pounds because of the way i eat (not that i'm complaining).

Anyway, thanks for the update Gizmo.

I've heard rumors of a buy-back/trade-in program for people who bought the original release but haven't had any real confirmation on that.
So I finally have some new info on this... the process involves emailing alliance. here's the original message:

“Consumers should contact Dione Baxter at Alliance Films in Canada: dione.baxter@alliancefilms.com, and they will be happy to exchange the discs for a new copy.”
Let me know how it goes if any of you try this
