Not sure what the deal is with the other studios. Weinstein might be more often as they don't release domestic Blus (at the moment) but if they get merged with another studio who knows.

Alliance is phasing out their current Outlander blu-ray stock, and is reissuing the Blu-ray with the proper aspect ratio. If you order the Canadian Blu-Ray after July 22nd your order *should* be filled with the new disks. Word is that they might be slipping the UK making-of featurette onto the disks as well.

I've heard rumors of a buy-back/trade-in program for people who bought the original release but haven't had any real confirmation on that.

that would be very awesome if they did that buyback. not holding my breath for any of you who bought it, but that would be the right thing to do. ahem, let the right one in, ahem.

Interesting. You have a link to that (if not no biggie).

Sorry, not at the moment. I spoke directly to the film's editor and director.

It seems a a bit strange that there is no info about the 7/7 releases, and they come out in less than a week. Axelmusic shows The Others and The Cell as "in stock" but there's no cover art. They don't even list Final Destination 2 and 3...

Canada's basically a bilingual country where English and French are both spoken, so it makes sense that the cover-art will have both English and French writing on it.

Hmmmm, if that Outlander trade-in does happen, I might just do it.

Got The Others from Playusa today, it's a 1080i, 1:78:1 transfer. Region locked A.

what are the sound specs? I am guessing that the 1:78:1 transfer isn't correct? Amazing that this company is continuing to do this crap.

Actually, I believe 1.85 is the original AR. I have the 2-disc special edition DVD and its 1.85. So, 1.78 is OK. But, 1080i??? Huh???

Damn, I was gonna grab a few of these imports and now Im not so sure.
