I have The Butterfly Effect and Cold Mountain. They both look and sound great.

Here's the link for White Noise 1 & 2: http://www.amazon.ca/White-Noise-Blu...4022871&sr=8-7

Looks like they come bundled. They were released back in November of 2008.

Updated list. I'd love more information on some of the titles.

I placed an order for the White Noise bundle earlier today. Once I get it, I'll share the info of this release on this page. It's released by TVA, so I'm gonna guess that there are features, 1080i, and 5.1 TrueHD.

Emmm, excuse perhaps a dumb question, how do you fill in the form when creating a "new" account, what is the difference from your earlier account? Is it a new Visa, a new email adress or what?

If you use a Gmail account, you can just add +something and the mail will go to the same place. For example if you have john@gmail.com, enter john+1@gmail.com.

Got my copy of White Noise/White Noise 2 on blu-ray in the mail earlier today.
It's released by TVA Films.
Both films are on one 50GB dual layer disc. I cannot confirm, but it's my understanding that both these transfers were done in 1080i.
On the packaging it says that it is region A.

White Noise
Video: MPEG4 AVC, 2.35:1 Video quality here was really good.
Audio: English AND French 5.1 Dolby TrueHD, English and French 5.1 Dolby Digital Audio quality was alright. Nothing spectacular, but it suited the movie pretty well.
No subtitles.
Special Features: Commentary track with director Geoffrey Sax and Michael Keaton; there are also 3 featurettes about E.V.P.

White Noise 2
Video: MPEG4 AVC, 2.35:1 Video quality for this one was really good as well.
Audio: English 5.1 Dolby TrueHD, English 5.1 dolby digital, French 2.0 Dolby Stereo. Here's where I have a problem.... The audio tracks for White Noise 2 seem to be out of sync by a little bit. I thought it was just my LG BH200 player acting up at first, but when I tried the movie in my PS3, the same problem occurred. Sometimes the video is a bit quicker than the audio, and at other times the audio is a bit quicker than the video. Some parts you couldn't tell it was happening, and at others it was pretty obvious. White Noise 1 on the other hand has zero problems with the audio syncing.
No subtitles.
Special features: Deleted scenes, and 3 featurettes.

Thanks for the info. Looks like the special features from the HD DVD are there...which makes me ask...why did you spend so much on the BD import when you could buy the HD DVD versions of both films for $10?

That's a good question. Hopefully this will be an alright answer: I can't find these titles anymore here in Canada. If they're still available in the US, I could get them, but then I'd have to factor in shipping costs, and the worth of the dollar, and possible customs fees (although I haven't been stopped by them before). In the end I could have saved a couple of bucks, but it was just easier getting it on blu-ray here in Canada.

Hi, guys. This is my first post, so I should probably introduce myself: my name is Scott and I live in Houston. I've been into the HD game since well-before the format war and have had a particular interest in import titles (mostly cult catalog titles). I wanted to share an experience with an Alliance release I just got, as it may affect your decision to buy the same title:

First, let me say that I've bought most of the Canadian imports, including Freddy v. Jason, Nightmare on Elm St., Young People F******, Good Will Hunting, D.O.A, Fido, From Dusk Till Dawn, the Constant Gardner and the Butterfly Effect. All have been fine releases with decent pictures and great sound. That is, until I got the recent release of 15 Minutes starring Robert Deniro and Ed Burns.

The disc play fine, but I immediately notices that it looked IDENTICAL to the old New Line Infinifilm DVD. I checked the video output on my Panasonic Plasma (the new 58") and it confirmed that the disc resolution was 480p and not 1080p.

I checked all my other Alliance discs - every other one registered 1080p. I'm using a PS3 hooked up through a Denon receiver with conversion turned off. I'm relatively sure that this is an authoring error, but thought you all should be aware of it.

Scott
