Do you know of any Aussie online store taking pre orders on In Bruges. So far I'm only found one.

I've used DVDOrchard & DVDCrave before and didn't have any problems. Never ordered from DVDownUnder before. UPC is 9339065001457, should make searching for shops easier.

Thanks!! I had only seen it at dvdownunder previously but like you have not ordered from them before but I have the other two so I tend to trust them more. BTW $27.44 total to the US isn't too bad for an import.

Just wanted to say how much I've appreciated this thread of late. Really just kind of discovered it. But it's already been helpful knowing which titles to seek out...even if they are far away lol. Sometimes marginal improvement doesn't always equal the higher cost & each title's technical issues vary, but good deals abroad are out there.

Got a few good ones on the way thanks to this thread.

This effort had to have been exhausting to complete. Thanks!!!

Thanks, I'm glad others appreciate it as much as I do. It really wasn't too bad to put together, I had alot of help! There's so many more I wish I could find out about though, this thread is only a small taste of all the other releases available.

Does the Dutch release of The Aviator feature proper pop-up menu's during movie playback? I know the first few Blu-ray releases by DFW did not have this simple feature 99% of Blu-ray's support.

Also, are the extras viewable on Region A US Blu-ray players? This was also a problem with a lot of DFW Blu-ray releases.

Lastly, upon starting the movie are Dutch subtitles automatically enabled? Just want to know so I can expect to have to turn them off everytime I play the movie.

EDIT: Can anybody tell me if the UK Studio Canal releases have the audio pitch issues the HD DVD versions had?

Anyone here have some firsthand experience with the U.K version of We Were Soldiers? I'm guessing it would be at least the same as the U.S version but if memory serves me right, the U.S Blu-ray did use a BD50 for the MPEG 2 encoding....so the U.K using AVC might be better.

The audio was already great. It's dirt cheap right now on amazon.uk and a part of the ongoing buy2, get 1 free deal.

The other question is regarding Mr. & Mrs. Smith. Thoughts on where to order this French Blu-ray version? Having a front projection setup, the past several years I have become a tad more image conscious and always try to find the best image versions where possible.

Thanks in advance.

I found this but it's listed as Warner? Sorry, I don't know any English friendly sites that sell French imports.

I'm curious too, I may pick that title up one day.

I saw that too. Someone on Blu-ray.com said the french version was the same as the U.S in terms of image etc...but on this thread it's reported to have less DNR thus a slightly sharper image. I already own the U.S release so there's probably other discs that I should target.

Still, the director's cut is mighty tempting which is what the France release is. If I get brave and order it, I'll post here.

I'd appreciate it, I only read from someone else that the French was a bit sharper than the US. I always like more first hand reports or my own view one day.

Anyone have a best guess for Danny the Dog (Sony Japan /vs/ Pathe France)?

I already have the Japanese version, but I really like the movie Sony and Pathe both have a pretty good track record on Blu-ray so I don't know if it's worth it for me to investigate.....

After all of my damn questions that no one knows the answers to, I finally spent the money to see if an import BD is better (but I'm almost positive it is). I've got Michael Clayton (M6 - France) on order and currently own the WB US release so I'll let ya all know how they compare when my French disc gets in
