Yes for the French (Gaumont) releases. Le Dernier Combat has no English subs but because of this it doesn't really need them:

That's awesome on the French releases. Do you know an English-friendly webstore that sells them (besides Amazon.fr, can't do Amazon orders myself)? Or is anyone planning a French group-buy anytime soon?

I don't know an English friendly French webstore, I buy my French imports from Amazon FR. Fnac is the other store I know there, but it's not English friendly either.

For the group-buy somebody else needs to step up

It's Universal, so will be region free.

The German 'Choke' BD from Koch Media is region B locked - unfortunately I can't provide any more information about it at this time due to not having a region free player yet.

I received Flugten (a.k.a. The Escape, Flykten in Swedish, Sandrew Metronome release) and Atlanticfilm's Katyn (Swedish release) today. Both are actually 1080i50 encoded and Katyn is in MPEG-2 as well (and has only DD 5.1 448 kbps audio). Flugten at least is in AVC (2.35:1 = OAR) and has DTS-HD MA 5.1 audio. Luckily my current main setup can play them OK anyway. Both are region free.

Flugten is a Danish movie with Danish/English audio. It includes English subs. The Swedish release of Katyn doesn't include English subs, just Nordic ones. Katyn's aspect ratio 1.77:1, similar to the Polish HD DVD, while OAR is 2.35:1 according to IMDB. I guess it's open matte.

I just ordered the following on blu-ray via amazon france I liked the first OSS so hope the next is good as well. have Les Rivières Pourpres as well seen the second but on on TV where they only seem to show the english dub

I've got OSS 117- Rio Ne Répond Plus on my latest French order as well. I ordered it together with Un long dimanche de fiançailles (A Very Long Engagement, apparently with English subs) and Antichrist which are both released on 4-Nov. I've never seen Les Rivières Pourpres, but have been interested in it, might get it at some point.

I dropped the 2 Mesrine movies from that French order, and ordered them from UK (January releases) instead as the price on the UK twin pack was much cheaper than French and that way they'll be English friendly without any extra work.

Placed an order for the UK releases of Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance and A Tale of Two Sisters today, 2-Nov releases. Too bad they are HMV UK exclusives as that makes the total price quite high, with 4.5 GBP shipping per disc and disc prices not too cheap either... Was thinking of getting Lady Vengeance too (although I have the German release already + external subs), but decided to drop it when I saw the total cost before final confirmation.
