Watched it tonight with my Dad. PQ sucked yes but it was an enjoyable movie nonetheless. Bloodiest, goriest I have ever seen. All in all had a good time.

I tested Big Trouble In Little China and it plays on a region B machine. Its a Fox release and it looks region free even though its marked as A only.

I have the movie OSS 117 on blu-ray. I just played it on my 80 GB PS3 has anybody had issues with a audio speed up. I didn't notice it before but but I've updated the firmware about 3 time since last viewing I'm on 2.60 firmware now...

I watched mine for the first time a couple of weeks ago on my 20 GB PS3 (Japanese original launch model) and didn't notice any problems. I had firmware 2.70 or 2.76, can't remember if it was before or after updating with 2.76...

I finally received The Machine Girl from HMV UK. Just checked the first 5 minutes or so now and it definitely looks like something that was upscaled from a lower resolution source, heavy aliasing / jaggies etc. I wonder if the original movie was shot in low res video, that would certainly explain it somehow. Anyway, the movie itself looks very entertaining.

I watched the Japanese BD release of the movie Mushishi (Bugmaster) with external subs earlier today, I liked it quite a bit

Thanks! Yeah, Resident Evil Apocalypse can be added to the German list because it's the extended cut, I'll do that in the next German update.

I managed to buy the Japanese Sony extended cut / AVC encoded release of that one separately 2nd hand though normally that one is only sold as part of the box set. Just watched it earlier this week.

Yeah, I just ordered the German edition today. I have been wanting to get it for a long time (since DVD) but never got around to it. After seeing Running Scared at a great price (thanks to here) I finally placed an order for some exclusive titles I've been wanting for some time:
- Running Scared
- Lazarus Project
- Alphabet Killer (I didn't even realise this was out on blu ray anywhere. I have noticed it on DVD in the US for a while, but really didn't want to get it in SD)
- Resident Evil: Apocalypse
- Crank

I'm in Australia so couldn't be part of the group buy obviously. Price all up worked out not too bad.

Watched 252: Signal of Life recently and was a bit disappointed. The movie is about some people getting trapped in the subway after a typhoon/tidal wave hit Tokyo. I think it could have been better but it wasn't terrible either. I guess if you can find it at a good price it might be worth it. At least PQ/AQ was very good. Region Free.

This was the first disc that had some problems when playing on my Panasonic BD10. There is no sound and the player sometimes locks up during loading. Fortunatly it seems to work fine on my BD30.

Thanks for the impressions. I'll probably only pick it up then if I see it available at a very good price. I guess English subs can't be found currently either. The premise is quite interesting though...

I've preordered K-20 that's to be released on June 24th (ordered it together with The Crow). I hope that's a good one.

I started working again since last Monday so I can purchase more discs now but I have less free time to watch them (and to update the import lists).

Hi everyone, first off thanks for this thread and all the great info

I was going to place an order for the UK Mad Detective disc (along with Tokyo Sonata) but Amazon UK isn't selling it directly anymore, only marketplace sellers. What would be the best place to order from, best shipping to US, ect... Thanks!

BlahDVD is good, they have Mad Detective in stock and their shipping is only 1 GBP for one disc, they tend to ship everything separately in my experience. They don't remove VAT though. I've ordered a few packages from there and always received them promptly. They ship my packages from Switzerland for some reason though the store is apparently Jersey-based.
