They had at least 6 units of both of them in their 2nd hand section, I wonder why so many as they usually have much less of each title if any. Already downloaded the subs for both too
Looking forward to watching them with subs.
These were good prices for the BDs, hope you'll enjoy them! The English subs worked really well for both. Watched 20th Century Boys again last night, I think it's a very entertaining movie.

Yeah, I intend to watch Suspect X tonight. It might have been quite challenging without the subs based on the scientific etc. text in the SRT file

Just got a shipment notice from Finland (boostep.fi) for Ben X, which seems to be Belgium's official submission to the Best Foreign Language Film Category of the 80th Annual Academy Awards (2008). Seems to be fairly highly rated, not English friendly though.

I'm glad the ordering system works for foreign orders there again, for several months it didn't work at least for me.

Any kind sole based in Japan fancy forwarding on some BD's to the UK for me? lgans316 used to do it for me, but he has now left Japan. Quite happy to reciprocate and forward stuff on from the UK for the willing party if its any help.

It is so much cheaper to buy from Amazon Japan and get someone to forward on (i.e. £10 a disk) than buy direct from Amazon since their shipping charges increased so much or purchase from the likes of YesAsia.

Thanks

I watched Suspect X last night and greatly enjoyed it, a very engaging movie with some strong performances and a very interesting plot. Definitely a good purchase. The external English subs were fine as well without any modifications.

Did some extra work on 20th Century Boys subs as they seem to get out of sync by nearly 10 seconds in the middle, seems that the movie wast split at that specific point for "2 disc bootleg editions"... Hopefully my fixed subs will be fine from start to finish Planning to watch that next.

Extras are in SD PAL: Making of, Trailer and Deleted scenes.

Subs are optional and PQ looks fine at a glance. I didn't have time to check yet that it works on my Japanese PS3 but all previous Sandrew Metronome releases that were region free (Blindness was not) have worked OK. I'll confirm that soon as well.

=> Confirmed that it plays fine on my Japanese (region A) PS3 (except for the SD PAL extras). It seems that Sandrew Metronome's intro is in 1080i / 25 fps but that seems to be somehow skipped by PS3 on the way to the menu. I get the menu directly when playing it in PS3 while I get the intro first when playing on my PC.

quick question how long should I wait before contacting amazon france about a package I haven't got yet. the package is 6 days over due at this point as is should have came on the 27th of march...

given customs may have it how long would that dely a package. I assume if there was a label issue it'b bee retured to france then Id be inforormed. I've never had a dely with amazon.fr so don't know the best way to approch this given its a int package and there's no way to track it.

I think it's good to contact them when it's one week past the expected delivery date. First they might tell you to wait another 10 days or 2 weeks and then ask you to contact them again if the package still hasn't arrived, but they may do so even if you wait longer until first contact. That's based on my experience with Amazon Germany, I have some experience of hugely delayed / lost packages from there but all my stuff from Amazon France has arrived promptly.

I watched 20th Century Boys the other night, the subs worked great after I had fixed them with Subtitle Workshop by adding delay of 9.430 s to the latter part starting from line 906 There were a few spaces missing here and there though, would be easy to fix by reviewing them through and editing a bit.

It was pretty interesting, a bit cult-movie / B-movie style apocalyptic manga-inspired story. I had very little knowledge about it before watching. I found the story to be quite intriguing, definitely need to see the latter parts as well. The acting was a bit over the top. PQ was a bit on the rough side.

That's based on my experience with Amazon Germany, I have some experience of hugely delayed / lost packages from there but all my stuff from Amazon France has arrived promptly.
I figure it may be a customs issue as I ordered the star trek laserdiscs from japan a few years ago. it took like 5 weeks. but I figure it was the poor discripton which said 6 movies. but the box was 13x13 and very heavy

I emailed amazon france a few hours ago and I'll see what they say

EDIT: got the email back today, they said to wait till the 13th then left a link. so a very quick responce which was nice

Didn't know about Subtitle Workshop before. I downloaded the program and updated the subtitle file according to your instructions. I will try it the next time I watch the movie. Thanks!

It's a very useful tool for subtitle editing and timing conversions. I use it all the time as I have to make sure the subs are well timed when remuxing them with video + audio since I can't adjust afterwards when watching on my PS3. I nowadays use suprip to check timestamps from original disc's subtitle file (e.g. Japanese subs extracted with eac3to) and compare the timings to those of the corresponding texts in external subs in a few locations, near the beginning, near the end and somewhere in the middle. It works well but sometimes there's more work to get the external subs timed well.

I guess it will resurface elsewhere as well around the same time.

Sigh. Has there been any word on "My Sassy Girl" coming out on BR now? I remember it being scheduled for HD DVD way back and I don't know why it would be on the back burner now that BR won.
I'd also like to hear about "Volcano High" already but considering Toshiba has the rights to it in Japan who knows how long it will take unless a Korean company decides to release it already.

"My Sassy Girl" in blu? That will be awesome, it is one of my favorite movies. It is witty, and romantic Hang on, are you talking about the Hollywood remake, or the Korean original? I love the Korean original, I have watched it at least half a dozen times
