Default Chungking Express coming to Blu-ray from Criterion!

Looking forward to this one... it's really exciting to see HK catalogue titles like this coming out, gives me hope for old Jackie Chan movies.

link: http://www.blu-asia.com/release_dates.php

release date is Nov. 25, 2008.

yeah this has been known for a long time as it was one of the 15 or so titles listed by Criterion as coming out come Fall.
nice to see an actual date though.
hadn't seen that before.
This thread should actually be in the main software forum because Criterion is a US company, and this is a domestic release.

It is not an import and there already is a thread for this: Criterion announces first titles on Blu

import or not depends on where you live, no? or is this a US site and i crossed some kind of line? anyway, you can't deny this is clearly a 100% hong kong movie.

as for the other thread, i don't remember seeing any release dates...

and it's not like i know how to move a thread around here so how about backing off and staying on topic and let admins do their thing if necessary?

Anyone from around the world is welcome to read High-Def Digest. However, this is a U.S.-based site, and the term "import" is meant to refer to discs released in countries other than the United States, for which the viewer will need to import that disc into the U.S.

Although Chunking Express is a Hong Kong movie, the disc in question is being released by the Criterion Collection, an American studio. Therefore, the disc is not an import.

i think you meant an american 'publisher'?

but i agree with your point.

it just never occured to me that people would automatically dismiss worthy news simply because of their own location in the world. if the thread needs to be moved, i welcome it and have no complaints.

people aren't dismissing the news....
a better headline would have perhaps been "2 Criterion Titles Coming Nov. 25th" or something like that. That way the emphasis would have been on the fact that we now have some actual dates.
but it's really not that big a deal.
it's a good bit of news either way.
people are just picky on here sometimes.
