Default Army of Darkness Blu

I noticed that there is a pre order up for Army of Darkness on the Amazon UK. Just wondering if there is any word of this being released in the U.S. Also noticed that in the specs list, this BD is listed as being in the PAL format which i can only assume i would not be able to play on a U.S. BD player, particularly a PS3. Am i correct to assume this?

yeah I saw that too.
In the US it will be a Universal release, and will most likely be the exact same encode as the already released HD DVD.
in the UK that company obviously has the rights. Will be interesting to see if it's better that the HD DVD release.
I'll add that one to my pre-order thread.
As for the "PAL" issue--there is NO PAL in the hd world (Amazon continues to simply copy dvd info for their Blu releases) so the only concern will be whether or not it is region free.
Some are and some aren't.
The US is region A in the hd world, and the UK is B.
Studio Canal did release some HD DVDs in Europe, but no bds until now.
Somebody else said the Studio Canal releases WERE going to be region locked when they started coming out, but I'm praying they are somehow wrong.
btw: as far as extras on Blu-Ray's are concerned--they can be PAL region 2 (the UK sd dvd region code) and can cause problems on US Blu machines--
like not playing.

Play.com has a pic up:

It's a Studio Canal release, i'm not sure if they also did the US release on HD DVD, because Universal's releasing Studio Canal's releases in quite a few countries?

Studio Canal had nothing to do with the US HD DVD release of Army of Darkness.

thanks for the replies guys. would be nice if we were able to own the entire Evil Dead series on Blu, with great transfers and sound of course.
