I've been wondering about this one and "Monster"
I saw this in the theater. good film.
hard to believe a 1 for pq.
I mean c'mon.
I'd have to see it to believe that.
btw: that site is the bomb for checking on German releases!

Translated using google translator.

+ Positive:
-- Solid sharpness value in isolated close-ups.
-- Skin tones are usually quite naturally reproduced.
-- Negative:
-- General very bad and unworthy Blu-ray image quality.
-- Unsharp, undetailliert and without any high-def feeling.
-- Virtually bleeding, sometimes even under (!), DVD-level.
-- Contrast, black level and color reproduction is not satisfactory.
-- Some very striking double contours and dirt particles.
-- Zero plasticity image with virtually non-existent depth effect.
-- Very striking block compression artifacts in dark picture areas.
-- Vertical extended because of a false image format (1.78:1 instead of 1.85:1).

First something positive: 'Cop Land' sees things in picture quality is minimal, and we feel really only minimally better than the previous label 'Vampire' (our review of the worst so far Blu-ray Disc's here) - but does that not much Because Cine Plus / VCL is making progress in 'Cop Land' almost exactly there, where they are at 'Vampire' left here again and offer a picture quality on unterstem level. The name Blu-ray disc is completely inappropriate and again on the cover anzufindende notice that the film 'Digitally remastered for Blu-ray Disc', is like a slap in the face for every home theater fan.

A good film like 'Cop Land' has something really do not deserve and we ask ourselves seriously, as it into something may occur. In any event, which brings a VCL label here again 1080i (50Hz, AVC MPEG-4) to implement any time of 101 min. Duration a spark high-def Feeling arise. In addition to a vague and general undetaillierten image (including Kantenflimmern, Block compression artefacts, double contours and dirt particles) must also still live another disaster: VCL has actually done the film in a false image format on the disc presses. The shell on the format of 2.23:1 is wrong anyway. 'Cop Land' was originally in the image format 1.85: 1 shot, but here it is presented in 1.78:1 format - including a slight vertical stretch.

As for 'Vampire' we have here is no other than the image quality a rating of just a star - and frankly is that for both titles still too much, because there must be something really in a format like Blu - Ray not exist. Even for 'Cop Land': This title has not earned as a Blu-ray means to be!

I bought a copy from urbeenjammin But we are working out the details he said it would not work on a PS3, ( no problem ) I have 2 Panny's but I have tried this on 4 other blu ray players besides my 2 Panny's and it's not region Free.

Just don't want other to think this will work, only two guys I know that have this on a region A player said it worked, 1 on a HP laptop and the other modified Blu Ray player.

Thank you for the correction. Did you get some sort region incompatibility screen or did it just run with a black screen ? .. It seems that the disc is 1080i50 instead of 1080p, and those 50hz / PAL videos have been troubling some US players.

Br,
Kalle

2nd email

Yeah, that is what happens when some US Blu-Ray players try to play PAL material (if the movie had been 1080p it would have run "perfectly"). Same can happen when trying to play PAL formatted SD Extra materials on some European blu-rays. I'm not actually even sure if it is the TV or the Blu-Ray player that is doing it.

It is kinda weird that as far as I know all new TVs and blu-ray players sold in europe support NTSC and PAL. Where as the US versions often seem to lack PAL support.

But I am truly sorry that my list failed to mention this. The person I got the info from said it ran fine on his Region A machine. I'll make a mention of it on the list.

Br,
Kalle

Yeah, seems like I got screwed by that too since I just received my copy from him. I'll try and trade it on one of the other boards I post at occasionally.

I wish someone would send me a copy.
I would love to check it in my bd-30.
I'll send it back asap.
It is unfortunate that some titles seem screwy like this.

i've sold literally hundreds of high definition dvd imports both BLU RAY and HD DVDS in a span of a few months on ebay and a few here.i'm not in the business of scamming anybody.if i did,it would be reflected on my feedbacks on ebay.'these guys' complaining, ask them if they even bothered asking me for a refund...none of them did.instead they go to this thread and just announce to everybody that i'm a scammer.(not true) lol.if there's a problem, just tell me that you want a refund, thats all.i don't want this to become a headache to anybody.the movie worked fine in my HP BLU RAY lap top and i know its no fancy BLU RAY player.
