My Escape From New York Blu-ray arrived today, £12.33 delivered from Asda. I live in the UK and own a Japanese PS3 (Region A), on which it plays fine, although none of the special features seem to work (just loads, then nothing happens).
The PQ is hit-and-miss: it has good fine detail, but the picture is unstable, has lots of grain and the picture has focus problems at some times. I'm not too familiar with the film or its DVD releases, so I'm probably not the best judge, but overall I'd say this has got to be the best this film has ever looked. Sound is Dolby Digital and DTS Master Audio and it's pretty bombastic, but again, it shows its age. I've only had a quick scan through various scenes, so I'll post back with more in depth impressions after I've watched it in full. |

Thank you for your impression... Ill probally have to order this next time I feel the urge to get something else from Amazon.UK
I figured it wouldn't be a complete remastered disc but I bet it still looks better then my SD DVD.
