That's correct. Warner had mentioned that this would be released in the States as well. I hope so. Been forever since I've seen the Keaton Batman.

warner doesn't immediately mean NO region coding. catalog makes it much more likely, but no guarantees

I was thinking the same thing. Wonder if they will do a "quadrilogy" pack

"Dark City" is supposedly locked.
"Hairspray" is another. (UK or Germany; can't remember)
if you look at the region coding sites there are a number of Warner locked titles. It seems to be pretty random imo.

Aren't those New Line titles? Sure Warner owns them but all Warner BDs of Warner movies are regionfree to the best of my knowledge.

Well I stand corrected. That's confirmed by http://bluray.liesinc.net/index.php?region=b

I hadn't ever heard of a Warner BD being region coded before and I thought I was pretty well informed. So now that the format war is over Warner has changed policies it seems.

My apologies.

Still I'd be shocked if these older Batman films were region coded.

yeah technically I guess those are New Line.
I highly doubt these catalogs will be locked.

I wouldn't be surprised it Warner announces these for the US to coincide with the TDK BD release.

Yep they are all New Line titles and every New Line release in the U.S. is Region Locked while every Warner title (to date) is Region Free. You have to make sure you click Region A discs at the top to get the U.S. releases.

Nope, not all New Line releases are region coded. New Line has a policy to only region lock day and date releases. This is why Pans Labyrinth for example got released on HD-DVD. It is released region free on both Blu-ray and HD-DVD.

Region coding on other titles like Shoot 'Em Up, Hairspray, Mr. Woodcock and Rush Hour 3 can easily be bypassed on the Playstation 3 even if they are meant to be region locked. Have tried this myself.

New Line does not distribute movies in Europe, they have contract with other distributors to do this. It is then up to the distributor/the contract in each country to decide if a title will be region locked or not.

If you have a Region A player, you will be able to play a vast majority of all Blu-ray releases. Most titles released in Europe and all in Region C are region free an available for import to everyone.

All Warner releases (except the Amazon exclusive Rambo Steelbook at Amazon Germany) have been region free. The Rambo Steelbook might more be a Amazon decisions or to have with the deal with Amazon/Lionsgate/Weinstein than a new policy by Warner. New Line have control over their own releases and as I said, have the policy to only make catalogue titles region free.

It is highly unlikely that these Batman releases will be region coded.

1. They are distributed by Warner.
2. They are catalogue releases.
3. It is Warner that is the production company.

Nothing points toward region locked titles.
