My copy of the German version of New Police Story Blu-Ray turned up from Amazon.de today, and I've given my early verdict of this below. First of all I've scanned the cover and disc as seen below.



Confirmed is the lack of English subtitles, meaning all our English speaking friends will have to make do with the English dub, which with a quick viewing earlier is disapointing also, on the UK and US DVD the English dub version of Jackie Chan was performed by Jackie himself....not so on the German Blu-Ray version! What we have here is a typical asian actor that sounds nothing like Jackie in real life acting out his voice, if you're used to the 80's Jackie Hong Kong movies with dodgy English dubbing then you won't mind this! But its beyond me when they actually get Jackie to do a dub of himself and then use someone else on another version.



Forwarding through the scenes also left me a little disapointed especially in scenes with dark colours namely black where there is alot of grain in these dark area's and is very noticable and grabs your attention when on screen.

Overall, it's the first eastern Jackie film to hit Blu-Ray and its let down by grain, a naff English dub of Jackie and a lack of extras compared to the 2 disc DVD version.
