well "Cliffhanger" is coming soon to the UK, and I don't think that one should be locked so you should be ok.

Yeah Optimum Home Entertainment is releasing the UK version, no region coding indicated on AmazonUKs page.

Unfortunately, what you see from Optimum is primarily channeled through Studio Canal, master-wise. And Optimum is Studio Canal's offshoot in the UK...translating in the company's support for region-coding. Unless otherwise noted, explicitly, you should consider all of their upcoming releases as B-only.

Ooooh. Stargate.

I was debating whether or not to grab Stargate as my first Blu purchase. But since I already have the extras-laden Ultimate set, picking up the empty Blu release didn't make much sense.

If so it would be a region B release as Kinowelt and Studio Canal merged sometime in the last few months.

And since Kinowelt and Studio Canal merged these titles in this thread will be Region B only, correct?

Region coding concerns just killed the joy from this announcement.

Hopefully, that won't be the case once they're released (hopefully).

Hello,

Canal did indeed take over Kinowelt. Thus, I am fairly certain that you will see a B-only coding for the mentioned earlier discs (this has certainly been the policy Canal have applied to Optimum's output).

Of course there are always exceptions to the rule

I've been wondering about Studio Canal.
Is there some reason they would want to lock old catalog titles?
Has it been confirmed that they are going to to do this?
doesn't make any sense to me.
why wouldn't they want more sales?
any idea?
btw: if the practice becomes to lock catalogs then I'll certainly be investing in a Region B player.
tired of worrying about this bs!

The Profession region free would be a perfect film to import.

As for Germany.... Where is Tin Drum with subs?

Sorry for being off topic, anyone know if LG BH200 is the only BD player with region hacks?
