Default Infernal Affairs Trilogy

If anyone is interested, this is available for pre-order through DDDhouse

http://www.dddhouse.com/v3/product_d...ProductID=8509

Comes out the be about $74.00 shipped. I was over in Chinatown in San Francisco today and walked into a store that displayed part 3 on a Toshiba Regza and it didn't look any better than the first one. Although clean there are some shots where it appears a bit soft, similar to the first one. They are an improvement over SD versions, but can use some improvement. I'm curious as to why they offered uncompressed for the first movie and DTS HD MA for the second and third movies.

I'll eventually order this, hoping it drops a little bit but even at roughly $25 each, I would hardly say this is expensive if you are a fan of Infernal Affairs.

IA1 was the first Blu movie released in HK I think and they were testing the market. I guess PCM uncompressed was the option at the time. IA2 and 3 were recently released, so they decided to use DTS HD MA. They didn't bother to redo IA1 and add the DTS HD MA track to it, so they just packaged the original into a trilogy.

Finally I just bought IA1 on BD. Any upgrade over the shitty SDVD I have is worth the $25 I paid. Not bad for a Hong Kong import.

Anyone else have IA on BD yet?

No chance of these ever getting a US release, so I suppose it's this or nothing. Where is DDDHouse located? Are they Region A?

I wouldn't say "no chance of these ever" it just isn't coming anytime soon. DDDHouse is located in Hong Kong, Infernal Affairs is All Regions (A,B,C). Other movies on DDDHouse vary in region coding, most are All Region (and as far as I can tell, the others are Region A).

Dragon Dynasty, which holds the US distribution rights, hasn't announced anything re. Blu-ray so I expect it will be quite some time before we see IA. Not much hope from the UK distributor (Tartan), either.

Thanks for the region-code info, I'm going to order this trilogy.

I finished watching the third one last week and the PQ is an improvement over the first IA. Too bad I can't say the same for the movie's story.

Looks like DDDhouse is charging a few more bucks now compared to when I bought it, now it's almost $79 shipped to North America. It took a little over 2 weeks for me to get it and boxset was wrapped in bubble wrap and sealed in a paper envelope. Xploited also sells this for $79.95 + shipping I believe so if you want it faster and with better shipping protection, the slight extra cost might be worth it.
