Im a big Eliza fan and this is probably her biggest 'starring' role if you dont count Bring It On.

Didnt like WT2 myself, though its much better than The Hills Have Eyes 2, but the original is one of those horrors you rent out because the cover looks good expecting nothing and then get presently surprised. Its 100 times better than the lightweight crap being released passing as horror these days i.e. The Eye (even Alba cant save this) and the abomination that was One Missed Call.

Most people say horror has lost it's edge but then films like Wrong Turn and Jeepers Creepers comes along and it's all YAY....

I love the lady Dushku myself (can't wait for Dollhouse... and the inevitable cancellation since it's on fox... BRING BACK TRU CALLING)... Dushku doesn't do enough movies in my opinion, she needs to get off her bum and start working cause it's a finnnnnnnnnnnnnnne bumbo

Fox have 'Fringe' which is the new JJ Abrams show which looks very good and both look expensive so ones going to go if not both. Why Joss Whedon went back to Fox after Firefly I have no idea.

Agree about ED though considering the volume of work she puts out she must sit on her arse 11 months of the year.

I've heard Joss had to go with fox as Dushku has an exclusive contract with them.... oooooo errrr maybe that's why she's sitting on her bum.

Thanks for the review, I'm waiting for my copy to arrive from Amazon.de. As its MGM that did the movie Fox will be releasing it so I wont be able import it from the US. Id say it will be a long time until it gets released in the UK but if the transfer is much better I will double dip. This was a low budget movie costing $10m so perhaps the grain is just something that will always be there. I'll also check the sound issues too to see if thats a production or disc probem.
I meant i don't speak german so i can't tell if it says region B only, the grain definately wasn't that strong in the dvds, maybe it's the HD bringing it to the surface & i checked it over & over it's a mess up on their part with the sound, just like how the pal dvd version gets picture ghosting on the 2nd car chase, i think so far the ntsc dvd version has been the only flawless one so far. Overall i'm happy that this on blu-ray at all. I agree their probably won't be a uk version for a while, i heard maybe not a u.s. one either.

Question

After just checking the back of the case, i realised it says all the picture specs, sound, special features & says "Ländercode 2" Which i assuming & after typing into google means region 2 or B for blu-rayites. Hope this helps. "Er kann Dich riechen Er wird Dich jagEn"

+ Positive:
-- Close-ups usually offer a good / some very good sharpness value.
-- Hattöne see, with a few exceptions, naturally.
-- General fairly solid contrast ratio.
-- A little volatile, but mostly solid black level.
-- Negative:
-- General below image ** with very little high-def feeling.
-- Many recordings are very soft and undetailliert.
-- There are always many negative particles of dirt and scratches visible.
-- Partial are very strong double contours perceptible.
-- Many scenes have a very strong partly Korn / picture noise.
-- Generally rather weak color reproduction / black level.
-- Some of these slight banding and compression artifacts visible.

** Who in the picture quality of 'Jeepers Creepers' on a clear increase over the previous standard DVD hoped, will unfortunately experience a disappointment, because the Blu-ray implementation of Cine Plus / VCL remains below expectations and offers only very little high-definition feeling. Especially distance shots left by the lack of sharpness or the lack of detail drawing a rather negative impression and remember, thanks to the strong double contours rather hochskaliertes to a DVD image.

It's also region free as it's now up to buy on movietyme

But shame about the picture... will wait for the US release and hope for the best, one of me fave horrors in recent years... despite the little twist that turned so many people off!

I received my copy from XPLOITEDCINEMA.com and I'm very pleased with the overall transfer. First off, the German release is REGION-FREE and the A/V quality looks pretty damn good over my 67" LED, DLP set. The DD 5.1 track is well rendered and offers an upgrade in fidelity over the standard-def DVD release. The only downside is that the DTS-HD 6.1 audio track is only in German! Any fan of the film shouldn't hesitate to pick up this import.

pick it up if you must but seriously it does not offer much more than the dvd, theres only a couple of bits where you notice a hd-like picture & the grain is worse than the dvds!

Maybe it's all about the system you're playing it on. As I stated earlier, displayed over my Samsung LED-DLP set and played over a Denon DVD-2500BTCI Blu-ray player I was truly impressed with the overall a/v quality. Sure the transfer exhibits film grain but that's directly inherent of the source print and not the disc itself. This is the best the film has ever looked and sounded and it's a must have for fans. I'm happy I picked it up and didn't wait for an eventual stateside release.

Well i have an 32" samsung lcd & pretty much anything looks great on it, so when something looks bad you can tell. Trust me i'm pretty sick when it comes to picture quality, standards higher than god himself nothing really impresses me, The sets i've gone thoughover the past 20 months i counted 12 various expensive lcds, rear projections & HD home cinema projectors before i finally found one of the best pictures i'd ever seen, 8 months later here we are still the same lcd Maybe it was your Samsung LED-DLP set, blurred out the grain & sharpen everything else I'm not sure DLP is what you really wanna go for in a home cinema set-up, that horrible rainbow effect(doe not effect everyone though, its like 2 in 5 people) Also with the grain issue maybe you had DNR on or something because it's the definately the case that the master used was not the UK or US ones it looked like an old film copy from a german cinema! But hey cares each to their own. I'ts funny i'm bad-mouthing this blu-ray since it still sits proud as one of my best horror blu-rays, but obviously not for picture.

I'm not going to get into a pissing match with you but DLP-LED's - they don't have color wheels, hence NO rainbow effects. My top-of-the-line Denon Blu-ray player really must be making all the difference concerning the picture quality that's in question. Sorry you don't agree, but over my setup I'm quite pleased with this disc.
