Nice! I definitely will be importing this, unless we get some kind of announcement from Paramount for the US version before the Japan release date.

well saying assuming there is no region lock implies that it might be.
as i said above wb has never region coded ANY of there bluray titles from any where in the world. and thats a fact.
the comment i was responding to in your original post didnt say "its assumed there is no region lock" thank you very much

but since youve only been a member of the forums for a couple of weeks its understandable you might not realize that.

But isn't it safer to say 'Assuming' rather then people coming back and flaming the OP for saying definatively there isn't when they blind buy it and all of a sudden WB start to Region Lock without warning? It could happen....

Hope it doesn't because EU gets more blood for their money... where as the US gets les in their cut, they just get different camera angles....

Thanks for the info. IF I end up ordering it I'll probably get the Japanese import. Assuming it's not region locked.

My saying "assuming no region lock" clearly implies I've made the presumption there will be none.

also what do you mean by this

i think its obvious what it means.
you are new here so iam giving you the benifit of the doubt that you honestly didnt realize that wb has never released a region locked title.

Firstly I am aware WB does not region lock their titles. Thats why I said it was assumed there would be none for Sweeney Todd

Secondly I'm pretty sure my 04-10-2007 Join Date
is before your 10-20-2007 Join Date

Not that it has anything to do with knowing or not if WB implements a region lock. It does not somehow make me more "in the know" because I happened to sign up earlier than someone else.

Anyway I'm done arguing. that's not why I made this thread or joined this forum.

This movie was really a waste of time, for me. I liked Sacha Baron Cohen and Alan Rickman's characters, but that's about all I cared for.

I want to see the Ray Winstone version of Sweeney Todd. I bet it's much better.

Being a fan of both Tim Burton and Johnny Depp I bought the 2-disc standard def dvd set last Tuesday and I wasn't impressed at all with the movie. It wasn't a "bad" movie or anything but I was hoping for something a bit better. Maybe it was the story that I didn't care for ... I don't know. Almost always the Burton/Depp team spells a solid hit ... just not this time (for me).

I'll be getting the Japanese release from Amazon Japan (free domestic shipping).

International orders from Amazon Japan are not so cheap especially for single disc packages because of the relatively expensive international priority shipping. Shipping cost would be more reasonable when ordering multiple titles at a time.

Another source for this would be HMV Japan who offer a bit cheaper shipping. With them it would also make sense to order at least 2 discs at once as they offer their best discount (20%, not 25% in reality though they write that) for this one only with "multibuy" option.

Play-Asia has fairly cheap shipping, but they're charging $47.90 for the movie
so it's not much cheaper than Amazon

Play-Asia $51.30 (after shipping)
