Waiting for the inevitable "Boy, this will tick off all those who bought previous players" from the usual gang of naysayers.

Well, everyone knew this was coming for 2 years...and the new specs were announced/finalized in Dec before the shopping spree. So getting rid of old stock before new spec doesnt bother me.

What I dont like is Sony's continuance to sell out-of-spec players. Say blu-ray 3D is called profile 3.0 now. I was hoping HDMI 1.4 and a 3.0 spec was going to be a standard specification, on any newly announced hardware. That way people know they will be compliant for anything they buy from here on out. Just like we have 5.1 audio even if you are still using stereo.

Well this is Sony after all. They didnt even have PS3 profile 2.0 compliant until after thier mandated an Oct 2008 deadline that all newly released players needed to be profile 2.0 compliant.
Toshiba A30 standalone player (on firesale! yay!)
Sony - BDP S350 (on firesale! yay!)
    HTPC - Cyberlink PowerDVD ultra
    Xbox 360 HD-DVD via USB
LG GGC-H20L boo-ray/HD-DVD drive via SATA
