Too bad I just bought an Oppo player. But geez, this player costs more than my Lexicon processor.

Glad to see that Lexicon is trying to stay relevant, they seem to be falling off lately.

Actually, it looks very much like an OPPO BDP-83. Especially, the
rear layout. Pretty close, but I'm sure there are differences that
    justify the $3500.00 price.

Here are some images I found over at AVS.

I wouldn't worry about it, you likely got the same quality player without the Lexicon badge and price tag

I'm sure these are great players and all... but honestly, can anyone really offer any evidence that these players are $3000 better then the Samsung, Sony and other mainstream offerings? At that price it better dispense fountain pop and/or some popcorn.

    That would be interesting...

I am sure high-end shops and installers all over will try to find ways to convince you.

the only way you can really see or hear the difference is with a $250 monster HDMI cable.

and some brilliant pebbles of course.

Well at least they rebadged an expensive player

Personally I find it amusing that there are enough people out there throwing money around to allow products like this to exist. More power to Lexicon and the home theater professionals that install them I suppose.

And a very good one too.

The market is small but there are people who these units target.
Unfortunately for them, 1080p/24 and bitstreaming from any
blu-ray player will yield similar results at any cost as long as the
decoder is doing it's job correclty. The exception would be if
someone desires an excellent analog audio section which can drive
the cost of a player up. Over hdmi, the differences are minimal at best.
