I reset to factory defaults and put the disc in again and it will not come up.

Has anyone else tried the BD-Live selection on "So I Married an Axe Murderer" on their BDP-83?
I fixed the problem by clearing the persistent storage. Apparently some garbage got stuck in there and wasn't letting anything play. The player is working again now.

Yep. It was certainly a Java crash... there was a lot of text scrolling across the screen and then it totally died, then it just wouldn't work anymore at all.

Apparently BD-Live stores information in persistent storage, as the player only started to work after I cleared it out.

Glad it worked out.

I still need to call Oppo about it. I watched Rush Hour 3 bitstreaming the DTS-HD MA 7.1 soundtrack & my receiver showed 5.1 but it was bitstreaming 7.1.

Maybe it's a problem with my receiver bitstreaming 7.1 DTS-HD MA. When I switch to PCM it correctly lights up 7.1 DTS-HD MA.

The Rush Hour 3 didn't have any audio dropouts when bitstreaming DTS-HD MA 7.1 but again the receiver only had lighted up 5.1 but was sending 7.1 to the speakers.

Really confused.
I have Rush Hour 3, I will give it a try and see what happens in my
setup.

Dollhouse also could not get to the main menu. Oppo's experimental firmware upgrade fixed it and I have no other problems (I'm hoping I don't encounter any).

Cutthroat Island has an audio problem: When I FF/Rew/Scan/chapter-change and then press Play to start, the loudest pop/boom is heard using DTS-HD MA. I put a note in the case that hides the cover reminding me to press Mute on the receiver remote before scanning through the movie or else my ears will bleed. My head did hurt just a little after that first unexpected pop. I'm glad my speakers are all right. I wrote to Oppo.

I updated my player with the new beta firmware and it fixed the problem with The Devil's Rejects. No more freezing.

I got this disc for my son, so I will try it out tonight. I have the new beta firmware, not the official release, so my results might be different than yours if you are not running the beta firmware.

PETMIC is running the beta firmware as well.

It doesn't matter...

From what I gather, Wolverine won't play unless you turn BD-Live off. Same results on the current release, experimental release, and the latest BETA.

Ahh, I will turn off BD-Live tonight so I can watch this movie. I couldn't watch it last night... rather I didn't feel like putting it in my PS3.
