Too bad they didn't get this out sooner, my parents returned theirs a while ago. After they got the unit for Christmas, they bought a bunch of old war movies and comedies which were from, suprise, Fox. Their player wouldn't play anything properly. Sharp said "we'll keep in touch" as far as a solution goes, and that was that. Amazon was nice enough to let them return the player and buy a different one, and since then everything has played fine. Kind of stupid that if they had kept the player, they would have gone a month and a half unable to play anything in their collection.

I just picked up this player on Ebay for $77 shipped new like 10 minutes ago, so this update will definitely be good. Can't wait to get it and my blu discs that should be on their way that I won.

If the eBay seller was 247sales4you, you got the older HP20U model, and good luck getting anything (I was looking through their closed listings and see a 20U went for $77 Wednesday afternoon).

I bought a HP21U from them last week. They never responded to daily requests for shipping confirmation & tracking, so I just filed a PayPal dispute - and PayPal immediately escalated it to a claim, saying buyer was "unable to respond". In looking over their closed listings, I see now they've "sold" over a hundred consumer electronics in the last week, while their Feedback is only for DVDs selling for a couple bucks each. Looks like a classic eBay scam - build up Feedback selling some cheap stuff, then sell a bunch of expensive items and try to take the money and run.

same here. purchased a memorex blu ray player from 247sales4you. a week later, no player, no response, listings have been removed from eBay, seller is no longer registered. really looking forward to receiving this player but was forced to submit a claim through PayPal.

I'm the guy who left the negative Feedback for 247sales4you saying "Nothing shipping, no responses - better file those PayPal claims".

So I've had a couple of emails from other eBayers, and I've talked to PayPal, and here's the scoop: If you filed your PayPal claim AFTER the listing was removed by eBay and eBay Loss Prevention emailed you about that and advised you not to complete the transaction, you can call PayPal and they will escalate you claim and refund immediately. If you filed BEFORE the eBay notice & listing removal (like me), they're required to give the (scumbag) seller the specified time to respond. They assured me I'm getting my refund on May 18.

Default Someone Host This Update!!!

None of the download links for this work!!!!!

If anyone still has this and can host it, it would be greatly appreciated!

I'm sure a few others, including me, could use this. I know Wolverine does NOT work on it without the newer firmware.

Just went browsing sharps site and found an update for the 21u/50u. File name is HP50_119.RVP and dated 6/23/09. Maybe this will fix some of the issues with this player. You can go browse sharpusa.com or pull the file I downloaded from here:

Cheers

yea, that's an older update. the last update is misnamed as being AFTER Snow White, but was up BEFORE Snow White came out, and doesn't address the issues with Snow White.
