SONY BDP-S350. Any known problems?
Hi there,
I just called my dad and perhaps he will buy into Blu-Ray as early as christmas. He's not quite a fan of SONY products (well, he was. But then 3 SONY machines dropped work in the very same week) so I guess I really have to encourage him to buy one SONY branded (Panasonic players are still out of the average joe price range in Europe and Samsung players are known to be unreliable).
Are there any known problems with the S350? I'd think it's the perfect player for my dad. It's inexpensive, comes with 3 gratis movies and (the most important) it's small enough to fit into his fed up TV rack.PSN/XBL: BLINX1234 -

mine works great. i say he should go for it. its small and compact. and it has fast load times. that sucks about his previous sony products. nothing is perfect but sony has done nothing but great products(in my experience) no problems at all with my player. good luck.

Thankyou.
I'll tell him when he and my mum arrive at my place on the 22nd of December to take me and my brother for a 2 week vacation in Switzerland.
Would be pretty darn nice. Watching Blu-Rays on his Pioneer with the fireplace in the back, a mug of warm milk, some bars of Swiss chocolate. Oh well. Can't wait for Christmas (although I absolutely hate it).PSN/XBL: BLINX1234 -

I'm not a fan of Sony products. But I ended up buying a S350 back in Aug after many positive responses on different forums. I couldn't be any happier with it.
People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but actually from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint. It's more like a big ball of wibbly wobbly... timey wimey... stuff. -

I'm happy with mine, and I've been able to play all of my
discs. Load times seem to be reasonable too. Since this is my first
player so that I don't have anything to compare against.

good to know that you guys like the S350, I really want to buy it one of these days. Anyone has a comparison between the S350 and another one?

i have the old panasonic too, its a profile 1.0 and the sony is a lot faster and smoother. as for a comparison between the the s350 and newer players cant really tell you. but i hear the panasonic bd35 is better than the s350. i think you cant go wrong with the new pannys and sonys.
