drive recommendations
Can anyone recommend a blu-ray drive (the computer variety that is)? Do they have similiar problems to older models when it comes to playing the disks? Also, does it come with the software to play the movies?

I have the Super Multi Blue LG drive

It does HD DVD and Blu-ray and has been flawless!!!
The software that comes with it is PowerDVD 7 but it is only the 2.0 ch audio version. You have to upgade to the full version in order to get full 5.1 7.1 sound. The ironic thing is, their current version of the PowerDVD software version 8 does not support HD DVD any longer. This means you would have to purchase one of their competitors software players such as:
Corel WinDVD 9

Or
ArcSoft TMT

If you don't have any need for HD DVD playback, then I would suggest checking over here for some recommendations or check avs forums.

I've got the same drive and its great. Newegg and Frys have had it for $140. Also Lite-on makes a drive as well that has received good reviews and it can be found for around $110.
