Default 3-D and possible new profile Blu player????

I was reading an article at Blu-ray.com with the title reading ''3-D is seeing a Blu future''. The article stated that the BDA is weighing on two options on how to incorporate 3-D movies on . One method was feeding the data thru the hdmi cable and thru the HDTV. The second method was letting the player send the data to the HDTV. If the second method happens, the BDA stated that another profile player would be needed to display 3D content. So....here are some questions that I am asking you guys and gals:

1) Do you think we will see another profile player (2.2/3.0??) be released??

2) I was really hoping to buy the Sony S350 in November....do you guys think I should wait now that BDA has issued this statement regardng 3-D?? I want a more reliable player as my main Blu movie player and not my . Getting tired of waiting for Samsung to issue their latest firmware to just play my recent and future Blu movies. They are doing better but I still have some movies that are not fully %100 playable yet. I do plan on keeping the Sammy for dvd upconversion which is great.

Thanks to all response!!

I do not think that we will see any other profiles than the ones laid out then the format was created. Profile 3 is reserved for BD-Audio.

Some players will have extra features not mentioned in any profile just to position them self from other players but the standard profiles will remain, Bonus View and BD-Live. Some older players will fall under Profile 1.0 for the grace period but no new will be added to this category.

another profile, I hope they don't choose that, if they do then it could end up causing a lot of confusion

why couldn't the bda just of got its act together in the first place instead of this profile crap. if hd dvd was able to get its specs finalized why couldn't of the bda

Blu keeps moving forward. HD DVD just stays in one place...dead. But, seriously, think about it, would HD DVD have been able to achieve any of the things that Blu is being able to do. There is the talk of the incredibly larger Blu disc that would be big enough to hold an entire TV show season on one disc, possibly without having to change anything about current Blu players. Now 3D is already available on Blu.

Would HDMI need a revision to incorporate 3D?

If it does, bummer...
If it doesn't... glad I've got a PS3 it actually ended up being future proof!

That is a good question....I would think that it would, in some form or another.

J6P only cares about one thing... being able to play the damn movie. It only gets confusing when people make it sound confusing.
