Those players are all made by Funai, a Japanese company, in China. There are also an abundance of players under different names manufactured in China by other companies. Inexpensive players made in China are going to be very common from now on.

These players have been on the market for a while now. The reason there isn't much discussion on them is that they're not hugely exciting. And with the prices that can be had on Samsung's BD-P1500 and Sony's new S350, they're not particularly enticing either.
