Default Good Feature Rich Blu-ray Player?

Hey guys.

I'm looking for a very good, stand alone Blu-ray player, but it has to have tons of features.
For some reason, I can't find these features listed when shopping online for a BR player.

I need a player that has,
  • Fast-Forward and Reverse at up to 32x
  • Step-Frame Forward and Step-Frame Reverse
  • Zoom while paused & while playing at, at least 4x.
Zoom must also include the ability to scan all directions to see any part
of the frame while zoomed, whether the video is paused or playing.
  • Slow motion Forward and Reverse at 1/8 speed
  • A-B Repeat.
  • Excellent DVD up scaling to 1080i
  • Very well made remote control

Oh, for the zoom, I'm not trying to get rid of the black bars on super wide movies.
I want zoom, because many times I like to enlarge a specific part of the screen for whatever reason.

This will be my first Blu-ray player and any help you can give me will be greatly appreciated.
I've Finally decided to make the leap from my OPPO DVD player.

I don't think you're ever going to get all those features in a blu ray player.

My OPPO DV971H DVD player has all these features and more and it's 2 years old.

This website won't let me post a link, because I have less than 10 posts, but if you do a search on amazon.com for this OPPO player, you'll see it.

Hmmm, if I can't expect all of these features then what can I expect?
I have about $400-$500 to spend. I need as many video manipulation features as possible.

Thank you.

Check out the new sony models 350 and 550 or ps3 .Probably as good as you're gonna get.
As for the oppo having the features ,usually the cheaper the player the more features it has from my experience.
Almost all cheap players even play divx and no standalone blu ray or hd dvd players do.

Ans whenever OPPO releases a Blu player you will get that too. (as well as SACD/DVD-A support I hope)

The LG BH200 has a lot of those features. Dont think it has them all but quite a few of them.

Only thing I dont think it has is the zoom. And it might have that but Im just not sure. My TV does this type of zoom your talking about (4x pan screen). So Ill have to check for you when I get home. I know it has the fast forward and reverse. I know it has the step frame. And A-B Repeat. Great upscaling. And a very good remote (way better than what came with my TV). I have a Harmony 550 though so I dont use it. But I was surprised at how good it was. Not sure about the slow motion.

So the two things Im not sure on is the slow motion and the zooming. Ill check for you tonight if you like. The rest it has.

I'm looking further into those Sony models. I went to the Sony website and was reading the manuals. Unfortunately, the they don't seem to have the features I'm looking for, but they look like darn good players.
Also, my OPPO was not cheap, it cost $220 and it's done a darn fine job for me these last 2 years.

I have the HD Fever, I don't think I can wait for a OPPO BR Player. but thank you.

No, I have never been here before and I have certainly never been banned from here, let alone any forum or website. And about my "wacky priorities," I would have thought that you AV enthusiasts would appreciate my unique needs. Aren't you guys like crazy in love with this stuff?

The LG BH200 looks kick ass! I see it does BR and HD-DVD.
The reviews on amazon.com speak very highly of this unit.
Your info has been very helpful to me. Thanks dude. Yeah,
if you could check for zoom/slow, that'd be great.
Even if it doesn't have those though, it still look very cool.

If you like the looks of the BH200, the BD-UP5000 will appeal to you, especially in the upscaling dept. No zoom as far as I know, though.

BTW, is that really you, deadmouse? Your recent 56 track giveaway was quite revealing as to your versatility and creativity, just when I had all but written you off.
