I don't get it... How can the S350 be BL-Live "ready" AND not have 1gb of storage? Doesn't the BD-Live (2.0) spec require 1gb of storage?

Being a Sony player, I am surprised they didn't force you to buy their memory stick.

These are the players/prices that Sony should have had at Blu-ray launch.

Now they've got my attention.

I've been looking for a blu player good enough to help me get off the Ps3's dick. Watching all those movies on a game console will just send that thing to an early grave, these players look great.

Why? Why should viewing the movies on a console be any different to a dedicated player in terms of longevity of the hardeware?

This is Sony kit, not the regular crap you get for $99 in a firesale...

Because I'd be using my PS3 for bothing gaming and movie watching, thus I'm putting double the amount of miles on one drive. If I had a stand alone player, I could cut the wear and tear on my PS3 in half. Take it easy, it wasn't a slant against the PS3.

Oh, no no... you can simply say that you don't like the way the PS3 looks, and you will get a back lash for it around here.

I will most likely take back my PS3 and wait for one of these players. The S300 was going to be my player of choice but I did at least want a Profile 1.1 player. The S350 looks way more promising.

I will wait for the 2nd model that comes out this Fall. Very good pricing on Sony's behalf.

i agree. ive been a fan of the playstation since psone. this is something ive been thinking about and considering a stand-alone player and really wanted bitstreaming not to mention tired of waiting for the ever evading dts ma decoding update.

If that's the case then it doesn't make sense that the only thing keeping the 350 from being a 2.0 player is the 1gb of storage which you can buy at retail for like $6. Why would Sony not include a 1gb memory stick and sell the player as a 2.0 player? Do they feel obligated to sell at least one profile 1.1 player?

So the S550 will include internal DTS-MA decoding??? Will this be the FIRST player to include that feature? Also, why hasn't SONY added this ability to it's PS3 since it is obvious they CAN implement it in one of their standalone players. Maybe when the S550 comes out the update for the PS3 will come out???

Anyone?
