Panasonic has announced a firmware upgrade for its Blu-ray player:
http://www.highdefdigest.com/news/sh...ray_Player/441 No major enhancements, though I'm curious about the "improved picture quality" via HDMI?

I think some players had picture issues with blacker than black and whiter than white via the HDMI connection and this may be what is referred to. AVS Forum likely has 1,000 people digging into what exactly that means exactly. Most likely though, the real enhancement would be the BD-J support... Pretty timely with the Sony firmware release as well.
Wish that Panasonic would get their 7.1 analog audio fully supported. |

Wait what about the 7.1 isn't fully supported? Sorry to take this OT. This is the one BD player I was looking at.

I have the Panasonic Blu-Ray player & the 7.1 analogs work correctly. Right now as far as I know it's the only Blu-Ray player with 7.1 analog outs & they are discrete.
