Man, now Denon's supporting the dark side? It probably won't sell that many though as it's the most expensive player. Nice of them to try to catch up with HD-DVDs features though.

man, $2000 is a lot of moolah to drop on a BD player. Even though I have been desperatly wanting DTS-HD Master Audio, at this price I'll stick with the DTS "core". As for BD-J 1.1, I'm very confident that the PS3 can be enabled to do it about the same time that this Denon is coming out

This should be the first player that outputs advanced codecs over HDMI, according to the engadget story.

I think I'm going to replace my Panny player with this one.

I know it's a denon but $2000? I can pretty much guarantee anyone who buys one of those already has another blu-ray player anyway.

Honestly for $2000 you think they would make it play HD DVDs too. Sammy's dual format playerwon't be more than $800

I think there also releasing a cheaper BD player that also supports DTS-HD MA. I'm not sure exactly what cheap means. Probably $800-$1000. But if the PS3 can ever be enabled to decode DTS-HD MA then there is no doubt that it would be the BD player of choice for me. If the PS3 can get a firmware update that would allow decoding of DTS-HD MA than it would definitely eventually be able to bitstream these formats, wouldn't it?

Default At this price!

At this price they should sell about 100 or less, way to much, when Players are under $500.00.

This is amazing news - it has every feature I could have ever dreamed of. The minute it is available for a more reasonable price, I'm selling my PS3 to buy it. MAN! I CAN'T WAIT!

P.S. Hopefully it is region-free for both SD/BD and upscales SD DVDs as well as the Oppo, including the use of the advanced PQ clean-up options on SD DVD titles.

You guys are thinking too much along the lines of pricing - it's a Denon player. The quality and available features will be unrivaled by ANYONE on the market. (Pioneer ELITE would come the closest anyway). But keep in mind, their DVD players (DVD-3930Ci) are benchmarked amazing & unrivaled - oh, and selling at a $1500 price point. Denon is the reason I don't have an HD format player yet. Their DVD players are THAT good.
