    Just don't buy this TV. If you get one, return it. Panasonic will get the message. There are plenty of available TV models out there.

    I was a little aggravated about this until I got to the part where it says you can turn this off in the menu function. I'd like for the tv to be discounted if ads are forced on you, but no chance of that if you can just simply turn them off.

    all in all, as someone that hates advertising....no big deal. if i can turn them permanently off, not a bother.

    It took me all of about 5 seconds to disable that ad on my VT50

    Many TV’s now starting at $199 offer firmware updates. The VIZIO flat screens automatically install the firmware updates when the TV is powered on. Possible the latest firmware updates from some TV brands might start offering AD’s. I agree if you can turn the AD’s off it’s not that big of an issue.
