Also, I want to post this reminder / warning: Apparently a seller with only 1 Feedback rating persuaded a member to pay him with PayPal Gift payment. You should NEVER use Paypal Personal Gift for payment EXCEPT with members who have been here for a long, long time, have tons of poz Feedback, and you're certain you can trust them. You have absolutely ZERO dispute recourse with PP Gift, which is why they don't charge fees for Gift payments - you're telling PP that the transaction is a gift to a family member or close friend, and have no need for any of their dispute procedures.

So if I want to do a trade and for my end I buy the BD from Amazon and have it send via Prime to the other party, is that allowed? I'm not making a profit, it's basically the same as me paying the other party and then he/she buys from Amazon.

I think as long as you re not making a profit on it (i.e. selling for $20 and just ordering from Amazon for $15) it shouldn't be a problem. I've done that before (buy from Amazon and ship to someone else since they only wanted trades and not cash).

I don't think profit is really the issue - there's no rule against selling anything for more than you paid for it. And occasionally getting a title from Amazon or other retailer to fulfill someone's wish for a trade is fine. I've even done it once myself, although since he was in Canada I had it shipped to me with Amazon Prime and then re-shipped it. It's selling titles, fulfilled by a retailer, and doing it in volume and repeatedly that it becomes a storefront.

I knew that problem would arise sooner or later and almost brought it up a few times.

Not trying to be mean, but members should still use some common sense when making gift payments. I only use gift payments to people who sell regularly, not people who have tons of buying feedback. Also, you can protect yourself by just paying the fee and sending a regular Paypal payment. So a $20 transaction you would just send $20.88

I've also traded with members where I would buy from Amazon and have it shipped 2 day since I'm a Prime member. What's strange is a couple members thought I was being shady somehow You received the movie in two days and brand new, what more could you ask for?

hell no to that. if a user is untrustworthy of the no-refund gift method, why pay them more money? they should take it on as a part of their earning OUR trust.

i agree, though, common sense is a must, not just huge boners when a good price comes up. get greedy, and lose it all. that's the price. play it smart by playing it safe, or take the risk. can't do both.

as for the priming things, if you DISCLOSE you'd buy something to get a trade, that's one thing, but to list the items for sale on credit vouchers, basically, with no control over shipping, that's not right. that's not personal. that's not peer-to-peer. buy the damn titles, and cover the shipping, and control the shipping yourself. shipping direct to someone from amz to get a trade done, hey it makes sense. priming to someone who doesn't have prime, makes sense. but we're talking about different situation.

Obviously if the person is untrustworthy, you wouldn't deal with them. But my point is that if the seller has some feedback but not enough to make you feel as comfortable as if you were dealing with a person with tons of selling feedback, than just pay the fees and use your credit card.

That's exactly it! I would say I'm buying it and having it shipped to you directly and they would still feel slighted.
