It will be worth it to keep the front page from being all Steel FS threads.

and whoever said modding was a fun or easy job? it's never that way.
first week we'll be merging, after that, deletion. then the requisite reposting by those who don't think a thread was deleted for a reason. then we mods get pissed off at having to do the same work again.
it's the circle of life.Nate Boss

Not that I have any more, but if someone has steelbooks as well as regular Blus, can they still put them in their regular thread?

Randell,
It's all posted in the thread:
If you have multiple titles you want to sell along with your steelbooks you may start an individual thread for all titles. This is to cut down on the amount of threads that have 1 Steelbook Title listed. We will weed out obvious attempts to get around this thread! -

I don't like the idea of the new Steelbook thread. Why not a thread where you can only sell TV seasons? A Concert BD's only thread?
I thought the rules guiding the Marketplace were that any seller could create a listing there. You could only have one listing on the front page at a time. You only get one bump per day, etc.
If these are the rules, people should be able to sell anything they want in their post, as long as it follows the rules. They shouldn't be discriminated against because they happen to be selling Steelbooks. They shouldn't have the one selling thread they are allowed shoved into your Steelbook concentration camp.
It's fine if you want it as an optional place to list, to help sellers, like the $10 or less thread. But to make a group thread the only place you can list ... I'm opposed to discriminating against a seller based on the merchandise they have to sell.
And has the Steelbook problem really been that bad? There have been three FS releases in the past two weeks, and there have been maybe 9 new threads started. I think there were 9 threads started on Tuesday, all selling Transformers 2 in regular cases.
Oops. I guess you should make a New Release thread and limit the market place to only selling movies less than two weeks old in one thread. That way we can cut down on all the new threads advertising new releases that happen every week.
The problems so bad that as of now, there are a total of 4 whole Steelbook threads on page 1! Three of them are locked because the deal is done, so they will go bye bye quickly. Page 2 has 4 whole steelbook threads too. Three are locked there as well and quickly going bye bye. Is that really so bad to need a special thread users are forced to use?

So if a user has two or three Steelbooks and one copy of Category 7 with a $100 asking price, they are fine to create their own thread, right? That won't be moved?

see post 952. there's ignorance of rules/laws in real life, then there's obviously ignoring the rules/laws.
perhaps said thread would go into that metaphorical concentration camp you mentioned.Nate Boss

I see that, but my point was, it seems like it is too easy to circumvent this "mandatory" steelbook thread. From your response, I take it you can add one single title, at a price no one would pay (so you really don't need to even have it), and you've suddenly got a pass from being forced into the "mandatory" thread.
If it is that easy to circumvent, why make it mandatory in the first place? Just make it an optional thread, like the $10 or less thread. -

no, that would be blatantly obvious, and as said in post 953, i'd show extreme prejudice on that. there's not knowing rules, and there's knowingly saying oh hellz no to them and doing whatever one wants.
iggy is the man to ask on questions about this, as he's going to set what is to be enforced. still, i know the general spirit of it, and i know that anyone doing such would get smacked.Nate Boss

It definitely makes sense for all the new folks popping up, or existing CA members that just have one or two steels to trade / sell.
For other folks that keep a trade thread consistently on the forum, I would think most of us have a number of things we'd like to trade and we shouldn't have a problem.
Most of my thread is dominated by steels, but I do still have a few blus for trade as well. In addition, I'm not always trading steelbook for steelbook...but sometimes steelbook for blus - so I don't think I should have a problem with the new thread / rules.
We'll see - hopefully this works for the number of the new folks / occassional traders.
