josh, that'd be because i locked it.

guys, i'm glad you are all staying vigilant, and with our cross-site users staying on top of things, i'm glad you did what you did...just next time, involve me, so it doesn't snowball.

it takes EVERYONE to keep this community safe, so i hope we all remember that and work to protect each other.

blu-since I don't think the thread is still viewable (if it is, sorry), would you mind shedding some light on what the issue was?

I traded/bought just a couple of times a while ago, was kind of put-off by the laziness I encountered regarding slow follow-up and no bother to leave feedback etc. I had been considering a few deals, (including one posted by you know who) right before this whole thing hit, and am now, of course, a bit leery to hop back in there.

My point being, any information that can be shared as far as what to watch for etc. is helpful. I'm glad to see there are those of you here who know what to look for and or vigilant, but those of us less informed would really appreciate the education, too.

sure thing. the vigilance has to be from everyone. for example, in this instance, a user who uses this forum and another spotted a user he had dealt with but had a negative issue, the guy never shipped anything, and reregistered with the same item list (shaaaady!) and got caught. then came here with the same item list, same pricing, and an absolute lack of any references.

THINGS TO LOOK FOR:

in new users: unbeatable prices. the whole "if it's too good to be true..." thing applies. also, massive, massive selection. it doesn't matter how low a price is, or how good a trade is, if you don't get what you're paying for. new users would be advised to have SOLID trading references. coming here with a first post and 50 items for sale is NOT a reference. an ebay name (that can be verified by asking a question on the ebay name), for example, or another forum with a trading history.

another thing to be vigilant for is making sure, on ANY user, unless they state they have multiple of something, that you don't see messages saying "paid for ________" when it's the exact same thing that you bought.

if a user is suspicious, report their thread, or pm me (or dat, or iggytx, though he is on a vacation at the moment for basically all of april). we have the tools to see if someone is full of shit or not. we do catch a lot of the crap at the door, though some always seeps through under.

if EVERYONE stays on alert, we'll be a safe trading area. it's when guards are lowered, people get greedy seeing a low price, and rather than ask questions or doubt things, they attack like piranas, and ultimately screw themselves.

thanks blu-not anything particularly new there I guess, but appreciate it. I think you're "if it's too good to be true..." warning is probably the best thing to look for in any transaction you make in life, not just online.

To those who go to other boards and pay attention (and reported this one), thanks. I simply am not involved in enough P2P transactions online to know who's who from other forums, so to those of you that are, thanks again.

yeah, nothing "NEW" in that list of things to look for, but you'd be surprised how many times those simple bits get ignored when someone sees a price they like.

negative. you have to have a thread active in this area.

find a thread you or your trading partner have created in ANY of the 4 trading areas.

Hope this is the right place for this...
If anyone did business with Jesterkeeters (Keith) in the last few weeks, can you post here what you purchased or traded, how much, date purchased and the current status.
Here's mine:
Fast & Furious Trilogy BD $50 (paypal) on 3/26 Nothing received

Granted, March 26 was only one week ago but with no response from Keith in his thread plus the fact that there are others who haven't received items from weeks ago, I feel like I must go ahead and file a claim with Paypal. First I'm going to give him time to respond to my email. I think that is fair.

We were just discussing this in the thread below. (jesters' thread)
You should definately file a claim now to be safe.

why people wait to file claims EVER is beyond me.

the thing about paypal is, if you can file a claim on someone who has money in account, or a transfer going through, you have a chance of getting the money back, as it stops them from getting it. people already give things a day or two, then say "i'll give it a few days more"

around these parts, i'm going to have to preach being AGGRESSIVE, as anything else don't work.

I've filed a claim just in case. This is the second time in a row that this has happened. I can understand as much as anyone that sometimes you can't get everything out the next day or even the day after. However there should be some response from him. It's not cool to keep someone in the dark. My thing is how many times is this going to happen. Keith and I have done many trades without incidence, so I don't know what to think.

I'm a little sick to my stomach right now, I just sent Keith $275 two days ago for an 80GB ps3. I have bought plenty of movies from him in the past, including imports. I definitely can't afford to be out $275...

He said he was sending it Tuesday afternoon, that he had to go send out a bunch of movies as well.

I still want to give him the benefit of the doubt, but at this point I have no tracking number and his last post was to update his ps3 thread to "sold."

Keith, if you're reading this, please contact us and let us know what's up.

I've never had a problem with trading with him, and combined with his high feedback, I didn't think twice about it - now all this is going down.

I may not buy from any forum anymore - if you can't count on his stats, feedback, rep, etc. - who's can you count on?

I'm going ahead with trying to get a charge back from Visa as that is how I paid for jesterkeeters movie via PayPal. I simply cannot believe the luck I have been having lately with people not getting me the stuff that I traded for or purchased in a timely manner or at all!

I also urge everyone to try to get their money back immediately. I could give two shits what is going on in this guys private life as IT'S NOT MY PROBLEM, it is simply unacceptable to not communicate at all, a single post in his thread explaining what is going on would take all of 30 seconds to post so I call bullshit.

I hear ya. Mine with Keith is $130. I wont stop buying from the forums though. Too many great people on here. Probably 200 deals and not a single problem yet.... I really hope this is not my first.
