I am still going to wait to see what PP says before I contact my CC company. (5/3 sucks at this from my past experience) This sucks. My birthday is in a week, so does anyone want to buy the Fast and Furious or Bourne trilogy for me since I apparently wont get these I paid for???

So a (mostly) happy update to my story - after the red flags went up from everyone here (thanks SilentNight and Nate, and all the others who had input on this), I contacted my bank.

I paid a mix of paypal balance and bank transfer through paypal to Keith. I didn't think there was anything my bank could do since it wasn't credit card. Turns out they can overturn already completed transfers in cases of fraud. I checked my account today and saw that the $191 I transferred to make up the $275 balance I paid Keith has been returned to my account.

Yes, I'm still out over $80, which still sucks, but it's a lot better than $275. I still have the paypal claim going, so we'll see what happens with the rest of the cash, but I feel at least a little better...

wow, that is really great to hear! Too bad you're still out $80 as that sucks. I would CERTAINLY visit this guy and see what's up but I'm in a small town in Ohio so it certainly doesn't make sense for me to go to Arizona for $13 but still, this guy needs to be called out on what he has done and pay for this dishonestly and all the money he is "trying" to steal from people.

Is it because I don't have Blu-rays for trade, and you think I'm clogging up the forum? Just curious. Within 5 minutes of posting it, I had 2 people interested in some of my DVDs. Sorry if I'm sounding whiny..

as stated in the mod note that was sent by private message, you need to look at your posts (through your profile) and see where it was moved.

the thread was moved as it was not offering blu-rays. it offered dvd's, which we put in home theatre.
it had content removed, as we only allow a certain type of item to be bartered here. as such, it was redubbed.

the Marketplace rules already run down the list of items allowed, and the general philosophy of where threads belong in this area. it is always advisable to peruse the marketplace rules before posting if one is new to the site.

feel free to maintain a thread that offers dvd's in the home theatre area. but note that we place threads here not by what's wanted, but by what's offered, and that in the bd area, threads that are dedicated to wanting items are prohibited, as there is a group thread called the "WTB Thread" for people to post their want lists.

Well, the saga continues. I got my money back from the bank, but now paypal has put my account in a negative balance for the amount of the overturned transfer. I called them, and they said they'd do what they could to recover the funds, but if they can't recover anything from the seller, then I am still responsible for the negative balance on my account.

Meaning, now I have this fraudulent asshole who took my money and ran, and I have paypal itself shaking me down for the cash. So it looks like I'm still out the $275 after all.

wtf, man that's shady. they put you in a hole since they won't/can't recover funds.

solution: don't use paypal anymore, and if they come after you, pursue legal action on THEM? they wouldn't have a leg to stand on if they took you to collections, considering the BANK reversed it, not you.

They couldn't tell me that, even though she could see his account. I have no intention of paying Paypal this money back. They can come after me, whatever, I will fight it until it is overturned. I guess I'm done with paypal now, too...

SilentNight, safe to say, as someone who used to appreciate Keith, and tried to help him in his business venture, I feel stabbed in the back as well, as he left this for me to deal with, to run off and fuck people over. I share your sentiments.

I guess I really lucked out having completed a 3 blu-ray deal with Keith in mid-March before things started going wrong with him in here. I'd still love to know what happened, and why all of a sudden this seemingly reliable seller in our forums seems to have turned untrustworthy.
