Good idea, horrible execution. You should have to pay no more than $4.99 per movie. As said earlier, you can get most of these movies for these prices or close to it on amazon or other places. Where's the deal? Full Metal Jacket $9.99...I can buy it for 9.99 already!

I've already double dipped on most anything i owned that i wanted in high def (and that's available) anyway, so even if this deal had better selection or prices I'd still not benefit. But that said, I like the idea. Would'a liked it better last year.

Too little, too late. Most of us who are into Blu have most likely already purchased Blu titles that we had on DVD, especially since most of these titles are already available at these prices on the open market. With that being the case, why would anyone bother trading in their DVD's. You are much better off buying the ones you want on Blu direct and taking your DVD's to a recycle store that buys used discs outright. Your net gain will be far better. Maybe Warner was trying to do the right thing here (they certainly did with the red2blu program) but this one seems to appear as nothing more than an empty gesture at best.

Unhappy

talk about a monumental level of excitement when I first saw the link.....

and the monumental disappointment when I saw the price and selection.....

While I see this as an opportunity to sell to newbies to the blu-ray community this really will not do much for veterans....pretty much annyone on this site.

Where the hell is the batman anthology? I have all 4 of the 90's Batmans and would more then be willing to send all 4 DVD disks plus about $20-$30 for an upgrade of that set.

I think the worst part of this is the 4-5 week turnaround. They expect me to pay near retail price for an upgrade, and then be without my movies for a month and a half? Completely retarded.

They need to take my credit card number, charge the upgrade price, and ship me the movies I want with a pre-paid return envelope for my DVDs. Then if I don't send the DVDs back in 30 days charge me full MSRP. Expecting me to go that long without movies I've already purchased is ridiculous.

Not just you Ace, but all these people complaining about what a bad deal this is, well then don't do it, buy them from AMZ! You should do a dummy order of all the titles you would do this with and then compare the grand total between WBshop and AMZ I think WBshop will have a lowe total. Sure you could take 3 $10 AMZ titles and say see, it's cheaper, but for fools like me that have hundreds of movies and would do this with say 25+ titles, it's a no brainer. Opening a 2nd window and doing an AMZ comparison is still not a bad idea, just remember to factor in shipping/taxes on both counts.

BOTTOM LINE - Warner could say screw you, want the same movie again, buy it again, period end. To offer this is a good gesture, I didn't see anyone else offer red2blu and Disney's dvd2blu is yet to be seen to comment on. The comment about lack of extras on the blu versions is quite valid as Warner has been asleep with this regard.

Or they could just give us MIRs like Paramount or Buena-Vista...

Does anyone really have 25+ of these titles on DVD but not on Blu-ray at this point? There are only 55 titles in the entire list... The only one I own on DVD that I haven't already upgraded is American History X, and for the $2 I would save (if shipping was free) by trading it in here I would rather just keep the DVD rather than having to send it in and wait over a month.

Y'know, I think I am going to retract some of my comments - I saw one of the premium priced titles (Spiderwick Chronicles) with a AMZ price below $10 today so yeah, pretty much back to all the original blabber about this deal not being any good!
