as long as you have the DVD barcodes, you should be good to go with the rebates.

Usually all you need is the proof of purchase tab, not the whole UPC. Most movies have these small tabs above the UPC or inside the digicase. There's usually more than 1 of them, and they are rather small. Then, the rebate forms have a place to tape these down on it.

At least that's the way the rebates in the past for BR upgrades have worked for me.

I get tired of the rebate BS and often times avoid items that offer them as a buy-me gimmick. This was with pc components and stuff though (memory, video cards, etc) Make sure you photocopy everything and give them an extra week before taking the next step, on the copy write the date mailed. If still no rebate, send a complaint to your state's Attorney General's office under consumer fraud statutes, including a photocopy of submitted materials. The company promised something and did not deliver. One time I got a double rebate from IOmega doing this. The person that RUSHED me a check as a result of the AG complaint was given the opportunity to get the other check that finally showed up back but declined, said the rebate processor can eat it. In news stories sometimes I hear about AG offices cracking down as a result of consumer complaints so the more people that do so the more likely a company will choose wisely when picking a processor.

I try to avoid rebates for this reason. But sometimes there's a deal for something I really want and I go ahead and do it. I've never been burned but it takes FOREVER. And yes, make copies of everything before you send.
