And here I thought it wouldn't go below the $52.49 price I got it at. Oh well.

Exactly...getting punked on the price just two days after it shipped out always hurts, but $52.49 still ain't a slouch...I'm still flummoxed that Amazon continues to reward those that don't pre-order with them...

Talking

it's the same w/star trek TOS S2, i think i grabbed it 62 or sth like that, a few days later, freakin' 59.99

edit: it's gonna happen on my pre-order of star trek TOS S3, it's now $52, but it'll be 48 or 49 a few days after i get it. makes me want to cancel it and wait for the extra $2

The pre-order for this was never this low, so assuming one was to have pre-ordered it, it would have been at the higher price.

I got the preorder discount which i wasnt expecting $15 off!

If it can pass through customs okay (I asked for it to be gift wrapped) then i will have saved at least £20 ($30) over buying the box set in this country. :-D

Exactly, if you show loyalty to Amazon by pre-ordering, you pay $52.49 but if you don't show that loyalty and get ROCKY after it is released, you only have to pay $49.99. It's a bizarre business practice that doesn't encourage customer loyalty at all.

Well, most of the mods and reviewers around here think I'm Satan anyway, so it's fitting, I guess...

I think this Rocky Blu-ray set at $49.99 is a great bargain and I have no idea why somebody that purchased it earlier at a higher price would whine about that. Amazon is a business and prices go up and down and I never worry that something I purchased might be available at a lower price later and don't understand why so many whine about such things. My hope is Blu-ray prices continue to go lower, I already have several players that were purchased at prices higher than I would have to pay today, including a $500 PS3, so what?

Amazon adjusts prices as necessary based on business factors such as competition, prices from suppliers and inventory of any given item. That Amazon isn't concerned that someone that purchased a product at a price higher than is available today and won't let that affect prices being charged today is a good thing in my opinion. Anybody that wants to whine about it should just avoid purchasing anything until the format fails and everything is closed out at clearance prices, just like HD DVD.

I totally agree. I haven't pre-ordered anything with Amazon since they changed their policy. Whats the point? I always pick free shipping anyway, so I might as well wait a few days since the price seems to drop 90% of the time within a few days. I can understand that they didn't like giving the refunds because of deals and such that made it prohibitive for them to price guarantee, but they should just exclude promotional offers.
