Default Amazon honored the $8 Monster's Inc. coupon!

Well sorta....I emailed Amazon and told them about the Monster's Inc coupon and even typed in all the numbers found on the coupon. They responded by saying that they don't honor mfg coupons but as a "one-time" exception, they credited $8 off Pinocchio.

So i basically snagged Up, Monster's, Inc., and Pinocchio for $34.97 ($11.66 each)! And if Amazon decides to go $19.99 on Monster's Inc. by next Tuesday, then thats $31.97

I know I was lucky, but that just goes to show, it never hurts to make a fuss

OMG, you're ruining it for everyone else because Amazon decided to take the coupon for you!

I asked them about it, and they wouldn't honor it for me.

Same for me, they said they didn't take my coupon.

I got Bolt today. It didn't have the slipcover and it only took off $6 instead of $10. Which meant I paid $17 and change for Bolt. :/

I sent them an email. I hope the fix it. Especially the slip cover. It's even advertised on the website with it.

The slip cover (or lack of) sux. But they have a weird formula for applying the discounts. I ordered Monsters Inc & Up for the $10 discount, and then Pinocchio for the other $10 discount. They shipped Up on Friday (2 day Prime, get it on release day), while the others aren't shipping until next week. Up is showing a Best Value Savings: -$4.66 and Promotion Applied: -$4.47, for a total cost of $10.86.

they're doing that so people don't just return titles. splitting up where the discount goes. they probably had to due to people returning things and trying to keep discounts like douches.

I'm a non-prime member and purchased both Monsters Inc and Up, however my order currently states an expected shipping date of November 16th.. 6 Days after the release of both titles. Does anyone think that this date will stick, or is this just used as a placeholder so expectations aren't ridiculous about when the movies would arrive? If I received my movies on the 16th or before I wouldn't have a problem, however if my movies aren't shipping untill the 16th then I'm considering cancelling my order and just picking these up locally. I don't have a problem waiting a bit, but waiting one week just to send the movies out, then another several days (pushing the wait close to 2 weeks) for them to arrive seems a bit ridiculous when I've already pre-ordered these movies. Anyone with any previous experience that can comment? I typically don't pre-order, and if I have a 2 week wait ahead of me, then I probably won't again.

Did you get Super Saving Shipping?

I remember getting Tropic Thunder last year with Super Saver Shipping and I ended up getting it about 5-6 days after release, when it was supposed to have arrived some 8-10 days after release. You might get it a bit earlier than expected, but don't take it as definitive word.

You most likely have to wait, if you chose free super saver shipping. Kind of sucks, but that is how the policy works. You can always contact them and ask about the date. You never know, they may ship it sooner.

I always use the super saver shipping option, so I have no problem waiting for 5-6 days for the items to arrive, typically ost items arrive in 3-4 days anyways, however my problem with this purchase is that it's set to ship 6 days after release, and then take another 5-6 days to arrive. Seems a bit odd that a non-backordered item would take 2 weeks to arrive. I get better shipping results through e-bay then that.

I'm not sure how pre orders work at Amazon, but maybe they fulfill pre orders on a first come first serve basis. I'm trying out Prime, and I thought with pre orders, you were supposed to get movies on release date. Mine are not scheduled to arrive until 11/13. I just pre ordered earlier this week though.

I've made a blu purchase one time, and they gave me a long estimate like that. I contacted them and they told me there was a mistake, and they updated the delivery estimate. That was with the super saver shippng.

Yea sorry, never meant to ruin it for anyone. Just got excited, thats all. Well you win some you lose some. I remember getting a few requests denied from Amazon in the past as well.

If you're just trying out Prime, did you remember to select the "ship items as they become available" option? It doesn't cost any extra w/ Prime, and you can still change the shipping to that if you didn't when you placed the order. I'm thinking there may be a shortage or delay with Monsters Inc. - my copy of Up shipped Friday, but Monsters says it isn't shipping until the 13th.

There appears to be cutoff lead time on Amazon's day of release delivery. Right now, you can still order Star Trek 2009 (street date November 17) and Amazon is still showing: "Release-day delivery option available at checkout for most continental U.S. addresses." Typically, that means your total order must be at least $25 to qualify for free two-day delivery (or you can pay for delivery). But sometime during this coming week, the delivery by release date will switch to only working with the overnight delivery option.

I think that change in street date delivery guarantee occurs sooner in the week for regular Amazon customers than it does for Prime members. As a Prime member, I know the free two-day delivery by release date option doesn't disappear until at least the Saturday before release. If I order on Friday (4 days before release), I still have the release date guarantee.

Amazon Prime is the bomb! This year alone, I've placed over 200 orders with Amazon (no, not all Blu-rays either). Every single one of those orders was shipped for no extra charge (aside from the $79 Amazon Prime membership) and every single one of them arrived to me within two days (sometimes in 1 day).

Last Monday, at 4pm pacific, I ordered an eSata PCIe card using Amazon Prime's free two-day shipping. It was delivered at 1pm on Tuesday. 21 hours after I ordered it!
