Default $148 Sony Blu-ray Player @ Wal-Mart

It looks like Wal-Mart is starting their pre-black Friday deals again this year. They are having an in store advertised sale this weekend on stuff like laptops, Xbox 360's and apparently, a Sony Blu-ray player for $148.

http://kotaku.com/5395950/xbox-360-w...0-this-weekend

EDIT: More than likely it will be the Sony BDP-S360. Or at least that is my best guess. It is already on Wal-Mart's website for $148 and says in store only.

It was previously $197 from Wal-Mart before the markdown. It's $152 from Amazon and $162 from New Egg. It looks like it is $200 at most B&M's like Best Buy, Target, HH Gregg, etc. So it may not be much of a deal for online shoppers, but looks like a good deal compared to other B&M's.

That 42" Sharp for $500 is a steal. Gonna have to tell my future in-laws about that one.

Before long they will be giving away Plasma's and LCD's with the purchase of a Monster HDMI Cable.

FYI, my store had put out the sale bills and posted the in store ads for this weekends deals when I was there last night. They have a special web page too:

I believe quantities are limited, at least on some items. My store got 2 of the Panasonic Plasmas and 12 laptops. I didn't realize there was a BD player, or I would have asked about that too.

I'm still debating whether to just get the Sharp 46" or wait for a deal on a 52", which was the size i had originally planned on for my next HDTV purchase.

The problem with all these TV's is that they are part numbers made specifically for Big Box retail outfits. As a result its hard to find a good number of reviews anywhere.

The 46" Sharp was over $1100 in July and is still about $1200 at Target, so it appears to be priced well. I just could never bring myself to buy something that hasn't had the crap reviewed out of it.

dude, i'm actually READY to get the Sharp 52" 1080p BUT no stores have it near me!

http://www.walmart.com/Sharp-52-LCD-...UN/ip/11070378

i'm going to check twice a day, every day as long as the price stays under 900....

i currently have a Sammy 50" 720p plasma that i got from last years' black friday (at sears) for 799...

i really want 1080p and this sharp is too cheap to pass on.

you are 100 percent correct. i googled (and i'm pretty good at googling!) for the last 40 minutes in hope of finding some reviews on all the Sharps 1080ps' and you're right...no reviews because these are 'Big Box retail outfits'...still, i would easily take the gamble and pay HALF the price that the 'HIGHER' end models currently go for.

i mean, how horrible can the big box versions be? worst comes to worst i can always return it.
