Default Gone With the Wind UCE Bargain Thread

Gone With the Wind is out 11/17/2009. So far, the best deal I've seen is Amazon.com with $56.49. Has anyone heard of anything better?

Well, still over a month away, so alot can happen. We don't know if there will be 1 disc and/or 3 disc exclusives like there was for Wizard of Oz. And while I went with the Walmart 1 disc for Oz, I'll probably go with the UCE of GWTW and I'm expecting WBshop.com to have the best price, like they did for Oz. GWTW is currently $64.95 at WBshop, but so was OZ and then they put it on sale the weekend before release for $51.99, and then with coupon codes I ended up getting 2 copies for $83.26 / $41.63 each. I used them to trade to a UK member for several UK releases I wanted.

So, I'm hoping WBshop comes through again.

I am really hoping for the WoOz route and a 1 (or 2) disc will be released.

I believe Target will have a 3 disc release a la Oz. Haven't heard anything about WalMart yet tho.

WBShop had a single disk edition for $19.16, but now only the deluxe version shows on their site.

I ordered the single disk and have not received any cancellation notice--that was over a week ago!

I'm sure Walmart and Target will each have a cheaper version, just like they did with the Wizard of Oz.

But we won't find out until a week before its released.

Amazon lowered the price to $45.49 from $56.49 this morning.

I had it in my cart, saved for later; checked WBshop and they still have it listed for $64.95. I'm going to go ahead and order it from Amazon, with Prime I'll have it on release day, with WBshop, who knows?

Best Buy preorder price is $45.49. Amazon matched it.

Interesting. I just searched for "Gone with the Wind" at bestbuy.com to check, and I see the blu-ray UCE is 50 cents less then the DVD UCE, which is $45.99.

There are employees from retail locations that did the Wizard of Oz deals claiming they have different 'product numbers' for Blu-rays. Meaning, they would be carrying more than one version!

I am holding out for the 1 disc version just like what we got for Oz. If not, I will hope for a cheaper Target version in a normal case.

But yeah, this movie is a must own.

Yeah, I went with the 1 disc version from Walmart for Oz, but I want the UCE of GWTW, and have a spot on the top of my media rack where it will look great.

I just received email from WBshop that they were "out of stock" of Gone With the Wind.

I'm sure they decided they couldn't deliver the single disk version I ordered. My question to them is why did you wait so long for this notification?

So I re-ordered from Amazon UK for just under $30. Hopefully vendors in the US will have this single disc edition, so I can cancel this order.

Dammit, what is up with these deluxed overpriced editions? I really hate that I have to go to Target or Walmart just to look and find a disc only version! I really hate it that WB did this for Wizard of Oz! Now they are doing it for this classic movie, and I can't buy the regular disc only edition at the place of my choice? These exclusives are pissing me off!!!
