You think its worth emailing amazon about getting the extra $10? I pre-ordered snow white as well for $9.99.

I called Amazon help line. I asked how to get the "Snow White Thanks" additional discount because I have pre-ordered Snow White with Amazon too.
She is very nice by adding the "Promotion discount" for $10 for me so I pay
Up : $27.99
Monster Inc : $28.49
Best Value Saving :-$10.00
Promotion Applied : -$10.00
Total = $36.48

Very good deal...thanks Amazon.

I called Amazon customer service and I was told since I ordered Snow White BD preorder that I received the $10 with that original order, that I cannot get another $10 off buying Monsters & Up. Does anyone have any more details on this? Is there a particular code or is the customer service rep correct that there isn't any further discount? Thanks

There is a code right now SNOWHITE to get 10$ off when you order it. I am assuming that the people getting the additional discount are people who bought it and did not get it with the original or so Amazon is applying it later.

Canceled then re-pre-ordered. I know I could have emailed/called, but this is quicker.

OK, after reading several threads on different forums regarding the "Snow White Thanks" $10 off, I think I've figured out why some are getting it and some aren't.

First of all, the SNOWHITE coupon code to get $10 off Snow White instantly at Amazon has NOTHING to do with "Snow White Thanks"! They are two completely different discounts. Yes, some people that used the SNOWHITE code when they bought Snow White are also finding they now have the "Snow White Thanks" discount, but there are also people who did NOT use the SNOWHITE code for their Snow White order and they are also getting the "Snow White Thanks" discount now.

So... here's what seems to be the "trigger" for the "Snow White Thanks" $10 discount..

1) You pre-ordered Snow White from Amazon BEFORE the SNOWHITE coupon code was announced.

That's it!

The "Snow White Thanks" $10 discount appears to be a way for Amazon to say "Thank you" for paying full price for Snow White. Amazon apparently put it into their system for everyone that pre-ordered BEFORE the coupon code was revealed. Their apparent thought was, these folks missed out on the coupon so let's give them the $10 back.

HOWEVER... Even if you later cancelled the early pre-order and re-ordered with the SNOWHITE coupon, your original pre-order is somehow in Amazon's system for making you eligible for the subsequent "Snow White Thanks" discount.

Basically, it's a glitch in Amazon's system. One I suspect they will fix very quickly now that they are getting tons of E-mail and phone calls.

Put in my preorder for Up and Monsters Inc. I have a feeling that there will be an even better deal for these two titles come Black Friday. I can always cancel before November 10 if something comes up.

I really, really, really want Up. But I'm not a huge fan of Monsters Inc., so I probably won't bite on this promotion.

It's tempting though...

I did notice that the $10 off promotion for Snow White is still active, however, so you can get Up, Monsters Inc. and Snow White for $56.48 which isn't a bad deal if you haven't gotten Snow White yet.

I'll have to call AMZ tomorrow about this. I preordered both MI and Up, on separate orders, months ago when they each showed up in my gold box. I'd just reorder them and cancel the previous, but I'd like to save the additional $3 or so between the two with their gold box discounts on top of the $10 rebate. I'll have to see if they'll bite, I guess...

I find it funny that they are thanking me for paying $9.99 for Snow White by giving me another 10 dollars. So basically they paid me a penny to take a Snow White blu-ray while thanking me. Maybe Amazon would like to drop by my house and wash my car too?

What an excellent deal for those who got it to work.
I'm going to try this to see if I get it, but boy have I been spending money like crazy lately.

I really liked Monsters Inc. and have it on DVD. For some reason I'm not that excited for this BD? Maybe I've seen the movie too many times.

I just tried and the deal didn't work for me. No biggie. I'm not ordering. I can wait on these movies.

As for your second paragraph, Monsters, Inc. was one of my favorite cartoons. How many times have you seen it? The movie never gets old for me. Is the BD going to have more extras than the DVD? It will have to for me to buy it.

I'm stoked for it, I'm stoked for all the Pixars on Blu. Problem is I don't have money to be dishing out 25-28 a pop. I still haven't picked up 'A Bug's Life' and won't be getting these unless I find a bargain.

i was the one that pre-ordered before the coupon was revealed... but i also used the snowhite code in that same order. brought it down to 15, then they gave me $5 back price guarantee.

i didn't get any snow thanks $10 off. maybe they fixed it? i'm going to pre-order and send them an email.

Amazon gets my money again!
Thanks man. I had them both preordered on the same ticket and it was not giving the $10 discount but upon re-ordering i got the discount. So old order is canned and the new order is made. You saved me $10, Once again. Thank you
