since the Ultimate Edition is coming out... i'm going to wait. i advise people to wait and rent it if they feel they need a fix =P. this is less of an actioneer than a prep. for the next 2 final chapters.

It's $5 cheaper than the dvd version with the digital copy so it's a pretty good deal.

I grabbed it. Have not seen this movie yet and am a big fan of the series so far.

What is the Ultimate Edtion going to feature that this won't? And anyway, list on those is like $50.

Well, for the first two films at least they are extended editions that add additional footage. I'm sure as they announce the other films they'll also be extended.

For me, that alone, even if it's just 5 minutes extra, makes me want to wait for the Ultimate editions.

I'm just not patient enough to wait though, and I know this is going to end up being a day 1 purchase for me . Oh well, I don't double dip often and I love this series so I'm willing to do it in this case.

I've seen that they're doing an ultimate edition on the first two movies. Are they definitely doing it for the Half Blood Prince? Have they said if it'll be soon?

they're double dipping with extended editions of all the movies, but from what i understand, all of the scenes they're integrating are already in the deleted scenes on the current disks.

i have HP1-5 already (non Ultimate Ed.). i'm not a big enough HP fan, but i dislike double dips. i've been double dipped on TMNT (part4 was part the boxset), 300, Casino Royale and soon 5th Element. so i'm taking a wait&see attitude for a lot of things now =P.

That's it - the deleted scenes are what is included back into the movies (at least for the first 2.) yeah it does add somewhat to the movie but the scenes are there. For the first two it is actually more than 5 minutes but for movies 3-5 it is only a couple minutes (<5).

As to why the haven't released the extended editions for 3-5 yet, I assume it is because the deleted scenes were included as unfinished cuts. So they need to go back and finish them.

In the end end I *might* double dip for an extended cut box set but that will be years away before the price is reasonable and all movies are released.

pre-ordered this along with the ultimate versions of the first two films.
I really don't think this one will come out as an ultimate version.
