Default Gremlins & Wizard of Oz Target Exclusive Sep 29

I didn't see this over here yet, but it is being reported over at several other forums that Target will have exclusive editions of Gremlins and The Wizard of Oz this Tuesday September 29th.

It has also been noted now that Walmart will have likely a single disc version of Oz available for $19.96

Pricing is noted below:

Gremlins @ Target
$22.99

The Wizard of Oz @ Target
$34.99

Wizard of Oz @ Walmart
$19.96

Gremlins hasn't even been announced stateside.
And that's an awfully good price for Oz.
Wouldn't the Target circular have leaked by now?

The price for OZ must be the DVD version.

Edit::: My bad. I just checked the scan of the ad and low and behold a NON limited version. Looks like a stripped down version.

Well, I'll be damned. Oz looks like it's in a digibook package or something. $34.99!
And Gremlins is $22.99.
Crazy! Check out the pics for yourself.

Hmm, I'm almost more interested in the Monster's vs Aliens Combo pack being exclusive to Target for only 24.99. I've seen ours and I wasn't planning on buying it because it wasn't a combo disc. I may have to go over to target and pic it up. I wouldn't be willing to pay more than $14.99 a piece for Gremlins or Wizard of Oz, no matter what they've done to restore them.

Really annoying when a retailer makes something that should be EVERYWHERE "exclusive" to their store. And at $34.99... I'll pass for now on Oz.

That sort of looks like the one inside the collector's edition:

I mean apart from the Blu-ray top it looks identical, and the case I have has a Blu-ray logo on the side too.

if that is Wizard on Blu I will cancel my UK order (only paying $5 less anyway) and buy that one.

I am probably going to jump on Oz at that price.

Monsters and Aliens is tempting...

If that Oz disc is exactly what's inside the (overly-elaborate and -priced) Ultimate boxset, I'm all over this. Still, it IS very strange that no word of a stand-alone release has been mentioned until now...

This thread should really be in the main blu-ray forum. Neither one of these are bargains...and it's more "news," no?

If I'm reading this correctly, the Target version of Wizard of Oz, is essentially the same movie, as in the Ultimate Collectors Edition? If so, Target it is.
