Those 2 packs are all the same that Wal-Mart offered for Fathers day for 20.00. I'd be willing to bet that The Eye + Crank, Patriot Games + ????, National Lampoons Van Wilder & Waiting, and several more will be included in the sale as well. If so then be sure to check Wal-Mart as those same titles may show back up there again as well and may save you $5.

For those who wondered if Target is doing another one of those exclusive OFFICE sets with bonus featurette, they are (a 45-minute cast interview, along with an episode script) but it's for the SD-DVD set only, which is piss poor, if you ask me. As I recall, the powers that be at The Digital Bits got Target to commit to making their exclusives available on BD, as well, after last year's THE INCREDIBLE HULK fiasco, but alas, here we are, years into this new, increasingly popular format and we're still getting punked on extra value incentives...

meh, no big deal to me. The Best Buy Office sets have been better, like last year's paper crate. my god was that a fantastic bit of packaging! besides, the extras package on this Blu-ray is top notch as is.

I call bullshit; the Best Buy sets are nothing but trinket dumps. The Target sets actually feature additional content, which is far more compelling than junk to collect dust on your desk at work...

i call bullshit in return; this release has MORE than enough extras as it is. it's already a daunting task, due to the deleted scenes. i know this, just like i know the package is a bit on the thin/flimsy side when it comes to the paper used. some things just aren't necessary. a SCREENPLAY, that isn't just junk to collect dust? kindling, sure, but other than that, it's worthless.
i'd rather have the set packaged in a Dunder Mifflin paper box (forget the "trinkets"), than have a screenplay, and an INTERVIEW.

Really? A paper box over 45 minutes of additional insights from the cast and crew? You and I have very different added-value preferences, it would seem. Surely you would agree with me, however, that in this day and age, those of us who prefer the Target exclusive to the Best Buy one shouldn't be forced to go with the SD-DVD to get it, yes?

oh i'd readily agree w/ that. i don't buy SD-DVD anymore. ever. if a title i want doesn't hit Blu, i don't buy it. i do disagree w/ the premium pricing these sets have at stores like TGT or BB, though.
i have a funcash pile at CH building up, hoping they change it so you can buy blus. if not, hey, i get some DVDs to sell.

I'm with Filmmaker on this one. It's so lame that this add'l footage is only on the DVD set and not the blu-ray. Oh well. Target lost a sale on the set as far as I'm concerned.

Hey, project-blu, just because I'm feeling ornery, I give you this, from the review at DVDTalk:
"I also picked up (as is my yearly tradition) the Best Buy and Target Exclusive editions. Both contain the exact same standard DVD of Season 5 within their special packaging. The Best Buy exclusive this year comes in a Schrute Farms Beet Crate; inside is a Large T-shirt advertising Schrute Farms Beets, a mouse pad (also designed like a crate), a magnet (Schrute Farms is the #1 Beet-Related Agrotourism Destination in Northern Pennsylvania), a doorknob hanger and a beet-shaped stress toy. The Target exclusive (the better of the two, in my opinion; the Best Buy sets are clever but heading downhill) comes in a special outer slipcover designed to look like a ream of Michael Scott Paper Company Paper (with an awkward fold-over flap with the hinge at the top; I'd have preferred to slide the DVD in from the side). Inside is a miniature screenplay for the episode "Michael Scott Paper Company", four magnets designed to look like classic black-bordered, inspirational one-word "phrase" posters and sitting inside the DVD digipak in a plain paper disc envelope was a bonus disc, [which] contains a bonus DVD with an additional feature. "Inside the Writer's Room" (47:47) is a wonderfully lengthy panel discussion at the Paley Center with ten members of the writing staff, plus Greg Daniels. They mock each other (Lieberstein and Kaling rag on each other's acting, and when the question comes up about who's most addicted to their mobile device, the result is decisive); they go in-depth discussing the challenge of keeping Michael realistic (including cutting a particularly great joke that Schur recounts); and fan reactions versus their own expectations. They also turn to the floor for fan questions, and the host, Jenny Tan, may be familiar to "Office" lovers as the webmaster of fansite www.officetally.com. It's even better than the featurette on the regular DVD, so if you haven't already picked up the DVD, I highly suggest heading to your local Target." ![]() |

that's nice. i'll hold by my thoughts, you hold by yours. in the end, we'll both be a mile ahead, instead of trying to convince each other of our differing beliefs
