Default **BOMB** Gladiator & Braveheart for $36 @ BESTBUY !

They are both $22.99 each and when you buy them together you get $10 off. I so pumped. I figured I would wind up paying $50+ on release day for these titles.

I own 150 + Blu's and this will be the happiest purchase I haver ever made on Blu's. Gladiator is my favorite movie all time.

I'd bite if these movies came with some type of MIR, but it looks like Paramount has stopped doing that lately...

Please be sure to check out the thread in the BD Software section about Gladiator being a DNRed/EEed mess. Still hold out hope for Gump.

Yeah, anyone thinking of buying Gladiator should check that thread out. but I didn't want to be the one to piss on his parade.

Considering the normal prices I still think $18 each isn't bad, considering the alternative. Maybe these will drop in price rapidly maybe not.

Bestbuy.com won't load for me...hmmm...maybe everyone's on there pre-ordering them?

Multiple websites have reported this, but what's odd to me is that the first review I read came from DVDBeaver, which is usually so perceptive and unafraid to be highly critical when necessary, and, though they do mention the EE and DNR, they don't describe it as being a big deal.

Look at the screengrabs and judge for yourself, though obviously a still image isn't the same thing as seeing it in motion (for instance, how is the grain structure affected by the DNR).

I was going to buy Gladiator based on Beaver's review, but he does not show the more egregious examples of DNR. I am not a grain fetishist, and DNR in general does not cause me to gnash my teeth and want to immolate myself as it does some.

But when important details like the flaming arrows in the "Hell Unleashed" scene are removed by excessive DNR, then it's no sale for me at any price. I'd rather watch my SD DVD. The images will be lower-rez, but they'll still be there at least.

In contrast to Gladiator, Braveheart looks the be a complete triumph.

How do I get this deal? I pre-ordered these on amazon and Gladiator is still $26.99 and Braveheart is $22.49. Now since I dont have to pay tax the total is $49.49. But I could pick up these 2 titles at Best Buy with tax for $50 even. But with this deal for $10 off I get them for $40. How do I actually get the deal for $40? I don't feel comfortable asking amazon to price match if I dont know how you actually get this deal.

Don't even bother trying to price match at Amazon. Since they abandoned their post-price protection policy, it seems almost pointless to pre-order titles these days.

Case in point: Best pre-order price on My Cousin Vinny was $22.99. Just a few days ago they lowered the price to $10.99. Now it's up to $24.49.

Their pricing just doesn't make sense especially on pre-orders when at their whim they can screw you on prices. They have frequently lowered prices on street date or just after. Once your item ships, forget about any price matching from Amazon.

Let's not even talk about competitor price-matching!

My guess would be the deal will become effective this Sunday. Think I'm going to get the two of them, unless amazon runs a similar offer, but better.
