Sadly, sales tax practically kills this deal for me. I just moved to Chicago a month ago, and tax here is 10.25%!

I suppose this isn't like Barnes and Noble where they give you a discount on books for having a membership, so they don't charge for the membership.

Actually they do give you a bigger discount on certain things. I don't remember the numbers off the top of my head, but it's something like best selling/new paperbacks/hardcovers are 30% off for non-members, and Rewards members get 40% off.

I can't spend anymore on my credit card which is why I mainly buy from brick and mortar stores, so this doesn't sound that bad.

I will probably pick up spaceballs for $15.50 and Sin City for $21.00 unless something else attracts my eye. I believe they will open at 9am so that is better than the usual 10am. I'll be there.

Interestingly, the prices in the store were slightly cheaper than the prices online. The 50% coupon worked on the store price. I ended up getting Air Force One for $14.99 and The Good, The Bad, & The Ugly for $14.49 (they were marked $29.99 and $28.99 respectively in the store).

Great deal! And, boy, was the place crowded! I waited behind about 15 people in line!

Borders is a joke. They wouldn't let me use the coupon with the price on the box, which was 19.99. It took it off the suggested retail price so it wasn't even worth it. Seriously, they should give you the price that is on the box in a giant red sticker.

I stopped by tonight. I couldn't find even one movie worth buying even with the 50% off. The prices there are ridiculous.

You guys clearly did not look for more than a second. There are plenty of decent deals. Sin City for $18 and Fargo for $15 were exactly the price points I was waiting on Amazon to drop them to, only now I don't have to wait until August/September.

The coupon CLEARLY states the discount was off of MSRP. I guess you didn't read the coupon OR read this thread.

BTW, I was afraid there would be a rush on the Blu-rays at Borders this morning and I knew I wouldn't be able to get there until around noon. So, yesterday, I used the Border's website to have my two Blu-rays held for me (Air Force One and The Good, The Bad, & The Ugly). Sure enough, when I finally got to the checkout, I simply gave them my name and my two Blus were right behind the counter waiting for me! Worked like a charm!

I noticed the prices were a little better instore too. I went right when it opened at 9am and there was an older couple already there searching for their two. They had a bunch behind the counter. Well, I decided to wait on Sin City and got Spaceballs and Waynes world for $14.99 each. Saved some money to buy organic groceries. I was eyeing the good, bad, and ugly but thought that best buy or someone will probably have it on sale in the future. One thing I do with is they would have had friday the 13th part 3 in 3-d. But just had the uncut latest one.

I picked up The Thing for 14.99 and League of Extraordinary Gentlemen for 12.99. Two good deals for me. I had been waiting for a good price on The Thing for a while and this beat Amazon's price. Thanks for the tip on the sale!

I did this yesterday too, usually the 40% coupon will beat Amazon around half the time, a 50% off coupon will beat them most of the time, even if it's a couple bucks. So I got Akira for $24.99 (Amazon still wants $29.99) and Sin City for 17.99 (Amazon wants $24.99).

No, it does not. It says nothing about MSRP. It says it may not be combined with other coupons or sales, which usually means something like the BOGO or whatever. There's no reason to be rude
