I picked one up last night for $98 at Store #1062 on El Dorado in Houston. It was the last one on the shelf. They might have more in back however.

The first store (Store #3425 on Rowlett) I went to didn't have it on the shelf at all, but it was a mad house there so I left without asking about it.

Magnavox NB500MGX & NB530MGX $98 Panama City Wal-Marts
I'm told Mobile and P'cola have the deal as well.

It doesn't look like they sold any between Thursday and today, although I don't know when the sale kick in here.

I had one a while back, thought it was great, but I wanted a player with internal decoding so I took it back after a couple months (walmart 90 day policy). Now that they are cheaper, I wanted to get it for the bedroom, but none are $98 near me, all are still $128 or $168.

I wouldn't think twice about it really, the player was quite good at everything I threw at it, even the extra paranoid discs.

The shelf tag says $168, but take it to a price scanner -- you may find that it scans as $98. This was the case for me tonight in Memphis. Grabbed one for my girlfriend, couldn't pass up that deal.

Set this up at my gf's tonight. I don't have any new BD's on hand because I use Netflix for the most part now, but I popped in TDK and it loaded quickly (much quicker than my Samsung 5000), and played without a hitch. Then I tried the newest release I have, Flight 666, and that worked fine too -- again, loaded quickly, I'm so used to my player taking f'n forever to load.

Overall, she's happy she has Blu-ray now. She doesn't give a crap that it's a Magnavox or that it doesn't have fancy audio decoding (she has no surround system) -- she just wants the great PQ and to be able to grab some movies from my collection. I'd say this $98 player is perfect for someone like that.

I can confirm the store in Hanover, MD (#3490) has them for $98.

They're sitting in the back on an endcap, facing TVs, with a sign that said they were marked down to $128 from $168...but rang up as $98 (Price Scanner right around the corner, too).

Had about 10 left after I got 2 of them.

Can't imagine the deals when Black Friday comes around.

Was in Walmart and noticed about 10 of them on a pallet. Pretty sure these are profile 1.1 players. They were $98

Curious to see how cheap they get for Black Friday.

I picked one of those up for an extra unit for one of the bedrooms in my house... $98 in McKinney, Texas. I had to ask someone to get it from the back, as they do not have them on the floor.

The unit is the same as the Sylvania NB530SLX... both made by Funai and both profile 1.1.

I got one a while back for the bedroom. Yes, it is profile 1.1 I believe since it doesn't have a network port. But I thought it was interesting that it had a SD card slot I think. The manual says if you put BD-Live content on the SD card, then it would play it.

My nearest Walmart in Porters Ranch, CA., still has them for $98, but now they have an entire wall of blu-ray's plus others scattered around. Maybe all stores will follow their lead.

I look forward to the day when everything is blu and there is a small section for the the few remaining DVD's.

I picke one of these players up on Saturday!! It works great I've watched Outbreak, I Robot & Independence Day on Blu and it works awesome. Very happy with the purchase. Since I unfortunately had to sell my PS3 a few months ago. I ended up picking up a Blu player for my laptop but never got the software for it so I could not really use it. I did have Power DVD 9 Ultra for 30 days though but the HDMI did not work from my laptop. Now I'm trying to sell that player on Ebay.
Mischa.
