All prices below are in UK pounds. You can easily convert the currency here:
http://www.xe.com/ucc/ This is just a small sample. I chose movies known to be superior in UK release, those not available in the US, or those that are a better price than in the US. There are almost 300 titles in this sale and though many titles have been on there for over a month that I've noticed, they also rotate in titles. Sin City (Director's+Recut 2 disc edition) 11.98 http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sin-City-Blu...6666487&sr=1-1 Almost Famous 9.98 13.98 9.98 (Not availabie in US; UK Edition features Extended Cut) http://www.amazon.co.uk/Almost-Famou...02081&sr=1-117 I,Robot 9.98 8.78 http://www.amazon.co.uk/I-Robot-Blu-...1800661&sr=1-1 Devil Wears Prada 9.98 (US version MPEG2, UK AVC) http://www.amazon.co.uk/Devil-Wears-...9687906&sr=1-1 The Inredible Hulk 12.98 http://www.amazon.co.uk/Incredible-H...1800598&sr=1-1 Predator 2 8.78 (Supposed to be best edition around) What imports are "better" than the US releases? http://www.amazon.co.uk/Predator-2-B...686473&sr=1-19 Kung Fu Hustle 12.88 (Unedited cut, whereas US version is edited) http://www.amazon.co.uk/Kung-Hustle-...9687154&sr=1-1 Starship Troopers 14.98 (Reports of sync issue with US version) http://www.amazon.co.uk/Starship-Tro...9687349&sr=1-1 Man On Fire 9.47 9.98 (Contains Extras not on US blu) http://www.amazon.co.uk/Man-Fire-Blu...800842&sr=1-15 Hellboy 7.98 9.98 8.78 http://www.amazon.co.uk/Hellboy-Blu-...801628&sr=1-36 Hitman Extreme Edition 8.98 8.78 11.98 (Have no idea what this entails. Region B coded) http://www.amazon.co.uk/Hitman-Blu-r...800842&sr=1-21 A Time To Kill 9.98 8.78 http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/...A3P5ROKL5A1OLE Not sure about region coding on this one The Punisher 12.88 9.98 (Extras not on US version) http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/...A3P5ROKL5A1OLE Bone Collector 8.98 (not available in US) http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/...A3P5ROKL5A1OLE Fargo 14.99 http://www.amazon.co.uk/Fargo-Blu-ra...045825&sr=1-22 Not sure about region coding, just noticed a lot of you want it. The Goonies 11.98 (Title not available in US on http://www.amazon.co.uk/Goonies-Blu-...4313804&sr=8-1 Batman Begins 9.98 http://www.amazon.co.uk/Batman-Begin...4302584&sr=1-1 The Hills Have Eyes 8.78 (prior to VAT removal!) http://www.amazon.co.uk/Hills-Have-E...6666149&sr=8-1 Casino Royale Deluxe Edition (Uncut 2 disc) 10.98 http://www.amazon.co.uk/Casino-Royal...666487&sr=1-15 2001: A Space Odyssey 9.98 http://www.amazon.co.uk/2001-Odyssey...6666487&sr=1-5 For differences between US release and UK I referred to this thread: What imports are "better" than the US releases? For Region Free Verification I Referred to this site: http://www.blurayregioncodes.com/index.php?region=b Last edited by dfms23 : 07-03-2009 at 09:24 PM. |

I had US version of "the thing" but I sold it on the forums and then bought UK version. The UK version is definitely better as all extras can be played unlike US where there is a sole documentary which can only be played PIP. Also you can consider UK version of Man on Fire as well which contains all the extras and deleted scenes etc. Check the region code info before jumping on this sale.

No problem. The Amazon UK B2G1 sales seem to totally blow the Amazon US sales out of the water. Amazon US raises the prices of all the items before it puts them on B2G1

Also for those who may not know the UK/Euro cases are thicker than US ones, so they are noticeably different in your collection. This doesn't personally bother me but it may bug others.

I keep hearing about Mongol but I'm just not sure. Too broke for blind buys lol. I'm wondering about The Punisher. Thinking about doing that one. Credit for this goes to Penthouse:
The Punisher U.S. - Audio- 6.1 DTS- ES, DD 5.1 EX., Extras - Trailers. U.K. - Audio - English/French/Spanish Dolby True HD. Extras - Director Commentary, Alternate Opening Sequence, Featurettes, Deleted Scenes, Music Video, Trailers. This info came from here: What imports are "better" than the US releases? |

They should pretty much all be region free but I noted a couple on the initial post that I'm not sure about the region coding. I am intrigued by A Time to Kill. I went and looked at the HDD review thread for that one. Man the board was at a fever pitch over that one
